Team Poundie Saving Dogs lives and helping them onto a better life !

Saving Lives Every Day

We are Team Poundie, a UK registered charity working with rescues in order to save dogs from death in council pounds. When a dog warden takes a stray dog into the pound they have 7 days for an owner to claim them; unclaimed dogs are killed unless they can be taken on by a rescue for the chance to find a new home. Team Poundie work with council pounds to get dogs out before

they are sent for their injection, and we work with rescues to find spaces, vaccinate, neuter, and sometimes even pay for rehabilitation of dogs that have been mistreated. Team Poundie do everything we can to secure these unwanted dogs a safe and happy future; to make sure they can get to their rescue via safe transport.

BELLA
Its been a busy time with the Dog Show and placing the recent pups - who are all doing marvellously - and now we have found a lovely new home for another little sweetie - BELLA - now NALA.

She came to us as an urgent case and luckily we had a home and family already checked and ready to go. She is the sweetest little French Bulldog who really needed to be the only dog in the home.

She's had quite an unsettled start, but she is going nowhere else now that she has found her forever home with Ara and family. Nala decided to complete her own admin in our office to make sure of that!!

To reassure everyone, the current Court Proceedings ongoing at Telford ref Billy Woodhouse are a seperate matter to the Criminal Investigation.
The current matters are through licensing and not related to the deceased dogs discovered in January 2026.

**APPLICATIONS NOW CLOSED**
Thank you to everyone that has applied, we will be in touch soon with all applicants 😊
TOBY IS UP FOR ADOPTION - WE have time to find his forever home - please APPLY via our usual route -
https://teampoundie.com/

Adopter needed for a 10 week old cockerpoo. Due to owner illness he has been relinquished. He is a handsome lad, but whoever has him should expect to be on their toes and have eyes in the back of their head... and npt much sleep probably, until he settles. He is a typical puppy - and a cockerpoo pup at that! He sees, he chews! He is pretty much house trained on pads and is very loving. He is crate trained to some extent, but cries when left alone. He is feeling unsettled after a few days distruption so he will need patience and time.
Video in comments.
Have you got room in your heart for Toby? Are you home most of the time? Can you cope with and thrive on the constant needs of a lively pup?
Team Poundie provide rescue back up when he is adopted. Adoption fee will apply. Please apply via webste or email if you are a serious applicant. [email protected]
Thank you.

11 months old Male Entire No children Pet free home

Re-introducing QUILL!
Quill is an 11 months old, Belgian Malinois and looking for his forever family.
This little boy was caught in the system, scheduled to be euthanised, simply because he had overstayed his welcome at the Pound. We worked together with our colleagues in the rescue world to save his life. BUT that was just the start. He was a typical ‘Mali’ – as well as being very young, unsocialised, untrained and scared. There was a lot of work to do but we knew he was worth it.
What our Team says
Quill initially spent time in our kennels while he was assessed and he responded very well. He is now in specialised foster, as this is the best option for getting him to a place where he can be re-homed. He has experienced consistency, patience, love and most of all, basic training and socialisation. He is a super dog, intelligent, willing to learn, super active of course. He has great potential – in the right home, with the right owners.
Their Personality & Progress
Within a couple of weeks of being in a home Quill began to show his character – wanting to learn and be approved off, yes, but needing consistency and experienced handling and training. Because of his breed we believe he has needed extra input to give him an advantage of rehoming, especially as he is still quite an anxious boy. He is now:
• Fully house trained
• Crate trained
• Following basic obedience commands
• Not chewing anything that isn't his toys
• Muzzle trained
• Doing amazing lead work
• Sitting down before crossing the road
• Desensitised to traffic
• Desensitised to a brush, nail clippers and nail grinder
• Not food reactive
• Knows when it is bed time and will take himself to his crate and settle until morning (mostly!)
• Willing to jump in and out of the bath – (still “sings” complainingly at having a bath!)
• Walking past people and other dogs on lead without reacting
• Able to be gradually introduced to new people and once he is confident around them will be calm and gentle - has totally accepted the regular members of the foster family
• Able to be gradually introduced to other dogs – he has got used to having the other resident dogs around, but will ‘grumble’ if they move too quickly
The Home They Need
While he sounds like the most obedient, re-homable dog we have ever had – this is a Mali and a nervous Mali at that. He will need an exceptional owner who is willing to to put in the time, attention and environment to complete Quill’s progress. We want a happy, confident, social, responsive adult dog in the next stage of his young life. Can you provide:
 Experience in this breed?
 Willingness to meet him at least twice before considering having him?
 On-going training?
 A pet free home OR one with a sensible, social older dog?
 A child-free home?
 The environment; time and energy to give time the physical and mental stimulation that he needs?
He is currently located in the North East of England.
If so, then please do apply using the link below and we will arrange meet and greets after a successful home assessment.
