Last weekend, a crew of Springfield Fire Brigade and Sheffield Volunteer Fire Brigade firefighters took part in the Road Crash Rescue Challenge for the first time in both brigades’ history. A huge effort from the team who came together at short notice and gave it their all!

Simulated rescues like these are a valuable chance to build skills, improve teamwork, and prepare for real-life emergencies. Big thanks to the Canterbury Provincial Fire Brigades Association (CPFBA) for organising this event and to the Rolleston Volunteer Fire Brigade for hosting the after-match 👏🏻

And thank you to the mums behind the scenes, the ones holding things together at home and supporting us to answer the siren. These flowers are for a special Springfield mum who does just that! ❤️

🚨 CAR DONATIONS NEEDED 🚨

The Springfield Fire Brigade has signed up to this year’s Road Crash Rescue Challenge, but we need your help for this event to go ahead! If you have a car that can be donated, please give the team at Anytime Towing a call 🙏🏻

Motor vehicle crashes make up the majority of our call outs, so this competition is a great opportunity for our crew to practice their rescue and medical response skills 🚒

Last weekend we came together for our awards evening to celebrate the incredible dedication of our volunteers 👩🏻‍🚒👨🏻‍🚒

A very special congratulations to Ann Shepherd on celebrating 25 years of service to our community. It was an absolute honour to share Ann’s Gold Star evening with her and her family. Ann is a truly valued member of our brigade, and we couldn’t be more proud of this outstanding achievement ⭐️👏🏻
