Taylor is not only the founder of the Chris Lynch Rolleston Christmas Parade, but continues to give countless hours of her time to help organise and grow this incredible community event.

What started as an idea has grown into a parade attracting 35,000+ people, and we couldn’t have achieved that without Taylor’s dedication and the support of the Real Property Management team.

Real Property Management specialise in residential property management, helping landlords take the stress out of managing their rental properties — from tenants and inspections to maintenance and rent collection.

But they don’t just support property owners — they’re also passionate about supporting our Rolleston community. ❤️

🚧 A huge thank you to CORDE! 🎄🎅

We’d like to give a big shout-out to Corde for their invaluable help with the Traffic Management Plan for the Chris Lynch Rolleston Christmas Parade.

With the parade travelling along Tennyson Street, Rolleston’s main street, there are a huge number of factors we need to consider to ensure the event is safe and causes as little disruption as possible.

That’s where Corde’s expertise has been incredibly valuable. Their team provides specialist transport, traffic engineering and infrastructure advice, helping with the planning and management of traffic around events, developments and busy road networks.

With 35,000+ people attending the parade, getting the traffic management right is a pretty important job! 🚗🚧

Thank you to the team at Corde for your knowledge, guidance and support in helping us deliver a safe and well-managed event for our community.

🎄 A huge thank you to the Rolleston Men's Shed!

They’ve done an amazing job making our Santa sleigh and reindeer, which will be proudly showcased at the Chris Lynch Rolleston Christmas Parade on Sunday 29 November.

The Rolleston Men’s Shed are currently seeking funding towards an extension of their premises. If you’d like to support this wonderful local group with a donation, please get in touch with them at [email protected]

We’d like to acknowledge and thank Geoff Brokenshire from Rangiriri Consultants for his valuable advice, guidance and input into helping us ensure the Chris Lynch Rolleston Christmas Parade is a safe event for our community.

With more than 35,000 people attending, safety is a huge part of the planning that happens behind the scenes, and having expert guidance is incredibly important.

Rangiriri Consultants specialise in designing and implementing management systems across environmental, quality, health and safety, with a strong focus on ISO and NZS compliance and meeting the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, associated regulations and other relevant legislation.

Their expertise includes:

🎄 Behind the scenes of the Chris Lynch Rolleston Christmas Parade! 🎅

The parade is proudly organised by two local organisations — Rolleston Residents Association and Rolleston + Districts Lions Club.

Planning starts early each year, looking back at the previous parade and asking, “How can we make it even better?”

When we first started, we honestly had no idea what we were doing! We had no event-management experience and never imagined that our little parade would grow to attract 35,000+ people. 😲

We’ve learnt, grown and improved every year, and we’re incredibly proud of what the community has helped us create.

But we couldn’t do it without the amazing support of Rolleston + Districts Lions Club and Rolleston Residents Association. ❤️

It truly is a community effort — and we’re so grateful to everyone who helps make the parade possible.

Here’s to another year of bringing Rolleston together for a little Christmas magic! 🎄🎅❤️

A friendly reminder to everyone attending our event this year.

The people helping with parking, entry, traffic management, setup, pack down, and the many other tasks behind the scenes are volunteers. They are giving up their own time to help make this event possible for our community, and we are incredibly grateful for their contribution.

What many people don't see is the amount of planning and compliance required to run an event of this size. We must follow strict Health & Safety requirements and operate in accordance with an approved Traffic Management Plan. These measures are in place to keep everyone safe and to ensure we can continue hosting this event year after year.

We understand that delays, road closures, parking restrictions, and directions from volunteers can sometimes be frustrating. However, our volunteers are simply carrying out the requirements necessary for the event to operate safely and successfully.

We ask that all attendees treat our volunteers with patience and respect. Abuse, aggression, or threatening behaviour towards volunteers will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Let's work together to make this a safe, enjoyable, and successful event for everyone involved.
