We are pleased to share that membership is healthy after renewal notices have now all been sent out to every past member that we have email for and know of.

Our members are part an organisation that has many engagements for resources to support business owners in things like marketing resources, ODBA advocacy on issues they might need help with, relationships with government organisations as well as access to resources and discounts through Chamber of Commerce, Venture Taranaki and Wheelhouse.
They are also part of a group of business owners that are keen to leverage collective knowledge and align thinking that benefits Opunake as a whole in terms of being a destination town for events, shopping choices, trades, tourism and experiences.

As memberships have renewed, the opunakenz.co.nz website got updated with business profiles. This is a channel that can be a quick "land" when anyone types "Opunake" in the google search as searchers can hit the website from other sites which have links for example STDC and other tourism websites. We are always looking for other paths into it as well.

If you have not received a renewal request account and you think that you should have, please message us through the page or email [email protected] to let us know and we will quickly sort that out.

Hello everyone. Last night at our meeting an idea was put forward to vote the parade floats using an online Facebook poll...
We are going to investigate this as an option and do a test to see if would work in terms of coverage and validity of each vote.

There is one big requirement that all floats are registered so that we can allocate entry numbers and provide a sign for your float so to do this we need you to do your entry form and get it into us ASAP. Forms are available at Cecelia's On Tasman Licorice - Purveyors of All Sorts Agrimec Tyres and Solution's also by messaging us here or at email [email protected]

We have also decided there will be no fee to enter. The form filled is essential before the parade. (20th) so we can make sure your float is eligible for the prizes.

People of Opunake,,, We are hearing on the wire that there are about ten floats in the making for the parade... If you have a float team and are doing one, it is absolutely essential that you fill in an entry form and hand it in to agrimec, licorice, green cow shops, or odba member or email to [email protected] for your registration to be eligible for the big prizes. If ODBA does not have a recognised float registration before the 20th December, your float will not be recognised for judging.

The Opunake & Districts Business Association has been notified by a collective of retailers in town that they are going to do three late night shopping opportunities before Christmas. This is a great way to showcase the town as a place to go for Christmas shopping in Taranaki. This is an open invitiation to any additional shops and businesses that want to be part of it.

The dates and additional hours are:
Friday 5th 12th and 19th of December from 5pm to 7pm.

It's getting closer to Parade time. Remember our sponsors are making this years floats extra competitive with some big prize money. Opunake and Rahotu Veterinary Trust for a $2000 first prize, Coastal sprayers LTD for a $1000 second prize and Tara Gibson & Viv Scott McDonald Real Estate Ltd Opunake for our third prize $500.
We are already hearing on the bush telegraph that there are creations underway so could we at OBA please request that you let us know as soon as you can you are in for the win by messaging here for a form to fill in to lock in your slot and your eligibility for one of these big prizes or by popping into Agrimec or Green Cow Burgers or Licorice for a form and get it back to us ASAP. You can even fill it in in one of the shops and leave it with them.

After a bit of IT and Banking work on our systems from skilled members within ODBA, we are finally getting the renewal invoices out from our XERO correctly. Some of you have them already (and have paid settled them - Thank you) and the rest should be done next week.. I will let you all know when they are all out and you can respond in messaging to us or the email address below if you didn't get one.
We have noticed that some have been going into your junk folders. This is a Google AI thing specific to some accounts. So first place to check is your junk/spam for something from [email protected]

ODBA is here for our members to advocate with organisations on your behalf, organise business member supporting events, provide exposure of our members business's through our recently updated website as well as a wider reach through VentureNZ, Tourism organisations, MBIE, Councils, Community Boards and Chamber of Commerce.
