Introducing the 2027 Ohaupo Rugby Sports Club Senior A management team.

We are proud to announce that Ryan Vickers has taken over the role of head coach and backs coach.

Part of a proud family that has been involved with our club for generations, Vickers joined us a few years ago after a vast career with the University Premier club.

Since joining us, Vickers has been a player and assistant coach, bringing plenty of fizz into the halfback role and asking plenty of questions - both on and off the park.

He’ll continue to pass down plenty of knowledge and wisdom to our players.

We’re also excited for Siaosi “George” Lelenoa to join our crew as forwards coach and technical adviser.

Lelenoa is widely regarded as an impressive prop with a great reputation.

He joins us after achieving his blazer for Waihou earlier this year.

Lelenoa also has 21 games of Heartland rugby experience with Thames Valley, Ngāti Porou East Coast and Poverty Bay between 2014 and 2018.

While at Thames Valley, he scored six tries - a great strike rate.

We look forward to seeing what Lelenoa can add to our team culture and style of play in 2027.

Loyal manager Brent “Puka” Kitson will be back for the 2027 campaign.

Kitson shows up week in, week out for his beloved club and we appreciate his constant commitment.

A former senior player who transitioned into management a decade ago, Kitson has given a lot to the club since joining as a youngster in the 1980s.

We’re proud to have this trio - and everyone else who works behind the scenes - involved at our club, and we thank them for choosing us.

The club is open for dinner every Friday night with the bar open from 5.30pm.

Our 2026 Senior Rugby Sevens training starts on Wednesday, October 7 at 6.15pm!

All ages and skill levels are welcome at your community-friendly Ōhaupō Rugby Sports Club.

Come along and get involved, or simply come down for a watch, a catch-up and a bit of socialising as we prepare for the Hinuera Sevens on Saturday, October 31, and the Waikato Club Sevens in Morrinsville on Saturday, November 7.

Whether you’re a seasoned sevens player or keen to give it a go, young or more mature in years, everyone is welcome (16 years and above).

It’s not all about the footy, it’s also about having an opportunity to gather as a community.

Our Ohaupo lads in action for the Waikato Divisional XV - Bronson Wilson-Beech, Chris Ferguson and Dean Fullerton - against Northern Invitational XV today at Tahuna Domain. The divisional side won 31-17.
