On Thursday, AfroConnect NZ and ACOFI had the priviledge of joining community leaders, ministers and organisations across the motu at the Race Relations Breakfast, hosted by the Race Relations Commissioner.

This year’s theme - “Whakarongo kia mārama | Listen to Understand” is one that resonates deeply as listening sits at the heart of genuine social cohesion. Aotearoa like many countries globally is navigating rising polarisation, to build cohesion we must be intentional about it. It also requires trust which only happens when we listen with humility and intention.

As a community, our experiences, our stories and our insights matter, we need to keep showing up together with clarity and courage.
