On Thursday, we had the privilege of celebrating something truly special... Freda’s 70 years of volunteering and giving to her community.
The Te Awamutu RSA was filled with people who had come together to recognise Freda and the incredible difference she has made across Te Awamutu and the wider community.
The afternoon included presentations and awards, plenty of stories and memories, and a very special moment when we were lucky enough to hear Freda herself sing. We shared afternoon tea, conversation and plenty of smiles, with a real sense of community throughout the room.
For seven decades, Freda has given her time and energy in so many different ways - as a teacher, musician, entertainer, clown, counsellor, mentor and friend. Her passion for bringing joy to others, particularly through music and entertainment, has touched countless lives.
A huge thank you to Vimala for organising this wonderful celebration and for making sure Freda’s incredible contribution was recognised and shared with the community. 💐
It was a beautiful afternoon celebrating an extraordinary 70 years of giving. Thank you, Freda, for everything you have given, and continue to give to those around you.
