πŸ”₯ Thank You, Gore! πŸ”₯

What an incredible day at our Open Day β€” we’re absolutely blown away by the support from our community!

A huge thank you to everyone who came along, had a look around, asked questions, and supported the brigade. It was awesome to meet so many of you and share a glimpse of what we do.

To our dedicated members and all those involved behind the scenes β€” thank you for the time, effort, and pride you put into making the day such a success. We couldn’t have done it without you.

If you weren’t able to make it but are interested in volunteering, we’d love to hear from you! Get in touch, or apply directly through the Fire and Emergency New Zealand website.

We’re opening the doors to our station and welcoming the community for a behind-the-scenes look at the brigade - and we’re recruiting now!

If you’ve ever considered becoming a volunteer firefighter, this is a great opportunity to meet the crew and find out more about what’s involved.

It’s a family-friendly event, so bring the kids along and enjoy an afternoon at the station. πŸ”₯

We acknowledge the departure of Senior Firefighter Trent Macgregor as he begins a new chapter with his family.

Trent has been an incredibly dedicated and highly committed member of the Gore Volunteer Fire Brigade. Throughout his time with us, he has made a significant contribution not only operationally, but also behind the scenes β€” particularly in the training and development of recruit firefighters across Eastern Southland. His leadership, steady presence, and willingness to give his time so generously have helped shape many of our newer members into confident firefighters.

Trent’s commitment to both the brigade and the wider community has never gone unnoticed. He has been heavily involved, always ready to step up, and someone we could rely on without hesitation.

He is a great loss to our brigade and will be genuinely missed β€” both professionally and personally.

We wish Trent and his family all the very best as they settle into this new chapter. His new brigade will be incredibly lucky to have him, and we have no doubt he will continue to make a positive impact wherever he serves.

Thank you for your service, Trent.

πŸŽ„ Gore Volunteer Fire Brigade Childrens Christmas Party 2025 πŸŽ…

What an awesome day we had out at Dolamore Park for our annual Childrens Christmas party! The sun was shining, the BBQ was sizzling, and the kids (and adults!) had an absolute blast on the waterslide and colour run.

A big highlight of the day was a special visit from Santa himself β€” and yes, he even joined in on the fun and went down the slide! πŸŽ…πŸ’¦πŸ˜‚

Huge thank you to everyone who came along, helped out, and made the day such a great success. πŸš’

Green watch out making good use of one of our Tuesday training evenings, testing all rescue gear to ensure correct operation.

This made for a good opportunity to refresh members on proper technique, with SO Chris Weir setting a small challenge for the crew to pick up a full cup of water using the rescue equipment and moving it without losing water, practicing those steady hands which proves vital for safe operation when under pressure.

A celebration of the achievements of our members at our Annual Service Honours Recognition evening and 25 year Gold Star Presentation to Chief Fire Officer Richard Tremaine.

Richard was the main driver of the preservation and display of the brigades history and was involved in the leadership committee that worked to secure a larger pumping appliance to address the risks within the Gore community. He has also been incident controller or sector commander at a number of significant incidents that the brigade has attended over the years.

Thank you Richard, for your commitment and sacrifice over the last 25 years and congratulations on reaching this impressive milestone.
