Advocacy is an activity by an individual or group which aims to influence decisions within economic, and social systems and institutions. We help people living in poverty through unfairness and injustices. We help people living in poverty and in an oppressive state to take care of their basic needs, such as shelter, safety and justice. • We believe in, stand for, and work to establish the dignity and the right of humanity. We are a group of caring people who believe in justice and a right to live with the basic need in life to survive. Our advocates have all experienced, directly or indirectly the injustices of many New Zealand State Owned Enterprises (SOE) and Private Owned Enterprises (POE) and believe there is a need for non-bias, non-affiliated persons to ensure that every SOE and POE is held accountable for their actions. Our Goal
Advocacy goes beyond support. Someone who supports an idea might say so if asked their opinion or cast their vote in a certain way. SANZ advocates an idea actively campaigns, gives their opinion without being asked, and tries to persuade others to vote in the same way as them. SANZ goals and objectives of advocacy are to facilitate in the best interest of the 'main person/s'. This is often for children, parents and one person who may find themselves in unforeseen situations. We also facilitate change and the development in areas of policy and law, in order to tackle unmet health and cultural needs or deal with emerging health needs in a given community. Our goal is the desired result of any advocacy activity.
