A huge thank you to The Warehouse !

We are incredibly grateful to the amazing team at The Warehouse Feilding for generously donating four brand-new push bikes to Feilding Blue Light!

All four of these bikes are now off to find deserving new homes, where we know they’ll bring plenty of smiles, freedom and adventures to some awesome local kids!

Community supporting community, doesnt get better than this!

Our Regional Blue Light PCT Competition was an absolute BUZZ!

A massive thank you to all of the schools who came along, brought the energy, backed their teams and gave the PCT everything they had! These kids made it look easy!!!

A HUGE shout-out also needs to go to the people who helped us pull the whole thing together:

✨️ Our Blue Light volunteers - we simply couldn't run days like this without you.
✨️ Sport Manawatū - Feilding and Surrounds - for all of your help and support throughout the day, and the kick start to get it going!
✨️ Ryan and his team - for giving us your time and for bringing the competition to Feilding, showing us how to do it 💙
✨️ Empowerment and Potential - for loaning us equipment so we could keep the kids busy, moving and competing between their PCT runs.
✨️ FAHS Feilding High School - for sending down an awesome crew of students to help man our stations.
✨️ The Warehouse - for generously donating our spot prizes and giving us even more reasons to celebrate the kids throughout the day!

And of course, thank you to the teachers, supporters and everyone else who helped get these kids there.

💙 A HUGE THANK YOU! 💙

Our Midwinter Christmas Disco was an absolute hit!!! Thanks to the incredible support of our community, we managed to raise an amazing $2,279.80 for Feilding Blue Light that goes right back into our community! 🎉

A massive thank you to Kiwi Floss , Rapid Relief Team NZ , The Warehouse , FAHS Feilding High School, and of course our wonderful volunteers who gave their time and energy to help make the night happen.

We simply couldn’t run events like this without people and organisations willing to get behind our young people and our community. 🥰 thanks team 💙

Graduation day arrived with a crisp -4°C morning.

The rangatahi were excited to proudly march in front of their whānau, showcasing the discipline, teamwork, and drill skills they had developed throughout the week.

A huge congratulations to all the rangatahi on graduating after a week that truly tested their resilience. From freezing temperatures and long days to meeting new peers and spending time away from home, they embraced every challenge with determination and courage.

Blue Light Life Skills Camps provide rangatahi aged 14–17 with the opportunity to experience a military-style environment, challenge themselves, build confidence, learn to work alongside new people, and earn NCEA credits over five action-packed days.

Today the group headed to Tūrangi for an exciting road trip and a session of indoor rock climbing.

For many, the highlight of the journey was seeing the snow-covered mountain, made even more special by our first day of sunshine.

The afternoon was packed with challenging pool activities that put the rangatahi's knot-tying, lashing, teamwork, and problem-solving skills to the test.

They completed a pool relay along with several team challenges, including a raft-building exercise.

We finished the day with one final drill practice in preparation for tomorrow's graduation🎓🌟

Continuing the week at the Blue Light Life Skills Camp in Waiouru!

Yesterday, our rangatahi had the opportunity to take a guided tour of the National Army Museum, where they learned about the brave men and women who served our country and the challenges they endured.

They also experienced what it was like to prepare a soldier's smoko, making a Milo and enjoying a biscuit while using the field cookers to heat their water.

The afternoon was spent playing sports in the gym, which became very competitive and was a lot of fun. We finished the day with a 30-minute workout to make sure everyone earned their dinner!

Everyone is doing an amazing job, braving the cold, supporting one another, and pushing through every challenge.

Feilding and Manawatū Blue Light have once again had the fantastic opportunity to send local rangatahi to the Blue Light Life Skills Camp, which is being held at Waiouru Military Camp.

Being in the middle of winter is a challenge on its own, let alone spending the week in the Central Plateau. By just day two, our rangatahi have already experienced sunshine, rain, strong winds, and even snow. They should be incredibly proud of the resilience and determination they have shown.

The camp provides an opportunity for rangatahi aged 14–17 to develop discipline, establish routines, experience a taste of military life, and build meaningful connections while working alongside peers they may not have met before.

Throughout the week, they will strengthen their resilience, mana, mental toughness, and physical endurance through a range of challenging and rewarding activities.

So far, the rangatahi have taken part in a PT session, begun learning drill and marching in formation, completed trust falls, and participated in small-group team-building activities with their new peers.
