π¨ NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH ALERT β BROCKVILLE π¨
We have a dedicated team of Brockville Neighbourhood Watch volunteers keeping an eye out for our community and looking out for our residents. π
Our team has noticed residentsβ mail ripped up and dumped along the streets and on footpaths. It appears that some mail may have been removed from letterboxes before being torn up and discarded.
While we don't want to jump to conclusions about what has happened, we are asking everyone to be a little more vigilant and take some simple precautions. π
π¬ A few things you can do to help protect your mail:
β’ Check your letterbox regularly and avoid leaving mail sitting there for long periods.
β’ If you're going away, ask someone you trust to collect your mail.
β’ Consider a secure or lockable letterbox if possible.
β’ If you receive important documents, keep an eye out for anything that looks like it has been opened, damaged or tampered with.
β’ If you see someone behaving suspiciously around letterboxes, don't approach them. Note the time, location and description if it is safe to do so.
β’ Keep an eye on your neighbours, particularly elderly residents or anyone who may have difficulty checking their mail regularly. β€οΈ
β’ If you find mail that isn't yours, don't throw it away. Let the intended recipient know or return it to the appropriate postal service.
πΈ Have you noticed damaged or missing mail in your area? Please let us know. Sharing information helps us identify whether this is happening in multiple parts of Brockville.
If you witness a theft in progress or believe a crime is occurring, contact Police on 111. For non-urgent matters, contact Police on 105.
Let's keep looking out for one another and keep Brockville safe, connected and looking after our neighbours. ππ‘
