Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu,
We encourage our community members to register for and attend the Muslims in Asia-Pacific Second Conference (MAP2), taking place on June 20–21, 2026, at the University of Otago, Dunedin.
FIANZ established the Aotearoa New Zealand Muslim Think Tank (ANZMTT) in 2021 (previously ANZITT). The ThinkTank has Muslim academic fellows from all major universities in New Zealand. Following the success of the inaugural Muslims in Asia-Pacific Conference (MAP1), held in Wellington in 2025, FIANZ is pleased to support ANZMTT, in collaboration with the University of Otago, for the second Muslims in Asia-Pacific Conference (MAP2).
Under the theme “Building Equitable Futures for Muslim Communities,” MAP2 brings together leading scholars, community leaders, practitioners, students, and organisations from across New Zealand and the wider Asia-Pacific region.
The programme will include keynote talks, research presentations, community-focused panels, discussions on Muslim wellbeing and identity, youth and education, interfaith engagement, social cohesion, and networking opportunities across academic and community sectors.
We are honoured to welcome Distinguished Professor Fethi Mansouri from Deakin University as keynote speaker.
Conference Registration: https://MAP2.eventbrite.co.nz
Please come along, participate in the conversations, and share this invitation with others in your networks and communities.
