One by One Rescue, NZ We privately set up One By One Rescue - to rescue and re-home puppies and dogs (not from the pound) within the greater Dunedin area.

One By One Rescue NZ are based out of Dunedin and is an organisation set up specifically for rescuing Dogs in need, where other charities are unable to take them. Adoption Fee $300.00 - which covers part costs for desexing / registration etc. Re-homing Fee starts from $50 (depending on vaccinations, registration etc.) Property inspections are required for adoptions & rehomed dogs, if renting Land

Lord permission is required to be sighted / copy provided for records. We are always needing help, if you can volunteer your time, have goods or money to donate, or think you may be of assistance in other ways then please contact us now! 🏡 Foster Home Needed Until Permanent Housing Is Found 🏡

These two lovely boys are looking for a safe foster home while their family secures housing. owner would like both dogs to stay together.
Location dunedin

🐶 Roomba
Roomba is a 2-year-old Bearded Collie x Labrador. He is amazing with children and has a fun, energetic personality. He loves attention, playtime, and being around people, so he would suit an active home that can keep up with his energy.

🐶 Zeus
Zeus is a 10-year-old Staffy x Poodle cross. He is wonderful with kids and has previously lived peacefully with cats. Zeus is a sweet older boy who enjoys companionship and a calm, loving environment.

Both dogs are looking for caring people who can help them temporarily until permanent housing is found. If you may be able to help, please get in touch for more information.

🐾 Rusty Looking for a Loving Home 🐾

Rusty is a 5-month-old Australian Kelpie cross living in Waihola Township. He’s a happy, energetic young boy who is full of life and loves being around people.

Rusty enjoys going for walks, spending time with children, and hanging out with his humans. He’s very social and also gets along well with other dogs.

NEWS IN FROM OWNER THESE CUTIES HAVE A NEW FAMILY- THANK YOU

🐾 Meet Rosa & Lily – Bonded Chihuahua Companions 💛
Rosa and Lily are a sweet, devoted pair of Chihuahuas looking for a loving home where they can stay together. These two have spent their lives side by side and share a strong bond that we’re hoping to keep intact.
🐶 Rosa (DOB 27/02/2013)
A black deer-headed Chihuahua, Rosa is the more energetic of the pair. She still has a playful, puppy-like spirit and especially loves getting out for walks.
🐶 Lily (DOB 03/08/2011)
A tan apple-headed Chihuahua, Lily is the little diva of the duo—but also incredibly affectionate and loves being close to her people.
About Them: • Breed: Chihuahuas
• Ages: 13 & 14 years
• Great with children
• Loving, loyal, and people-focused
• Can be protective at first but warm up quickly to new people
• Always been walked on leash
These girls have been part of a family environment and have shown how gentle and caring they can be—once even sleeping beside a newborn baby to “watch over” her 💛
Things to Consider: • Senior dogs who will need a calm, understanding home
• Occasional incontinence—will need patience and easy outdoor access
• Rosa is not desexed or microchipped; Lily is microchipped
• Limited experience with other animals, so a home without other pets is best
• They may have the occasional disagreement, as many bonded pairs do
Rosa and Lily would thrive in a home where someone is around often and can give them the attention, comfort, and care they deserve in their senior years.
Keeping them together is very important—they’ve shared a lifetime, and it would be heartbreaking to separate them.

Scooby is a loyal, loving 3-year-old Staffy Cross who forms strong bonds with his people. He absolutely adores his family—especially children—and shows it through endless affection, cuddles, and a wagging tail.
He’s looking for a home where he can be the centre of attention. Scooby is best suited as the only pet, though he may be okay with a calm female dog in the right setting. He enjoys having space to move and play, so a secure section and an active home are a must.
Scooby can be protective of his family and needs an experienced owner who understands his instincts and can provide confident handling. He is reactive to motorbikes and unfamiliar people on bikes, so he will need to be kept on a secure leash when out and about or safely contained at home.
With the right person or family, Scooby is an incredibly devoted companion who will give back so much love and loyalty.

Tilly and Denry are a bonded pair of small, short-haired Griffons and must be rehomed together.
🐶 About Them
Breed: Griffons
Age: Approx. 13 years
Coat: Short hair
Tilly – Black (not desexed)
Denry – Brown (desexed)
💕 Nature & Personality
Tilly and Denry are gentle, affectionate companion dogs who love nothing more than being close to their humans.
They enjoy:
Short walks
A potter around the yard or paddock
Relaxing and snoozing near you
They are low-energy and perfectly suited to a slower-paced lifestyle.
🏡 Ideal Home
Quiet, calm household
Someone home most of the time (retired or home-based ideal)
No young children
No other pets
A home that understands and appreciates senior dogs
These boys are true companions and don’t cope well being left alone for long periods.

Meet Ceff and Boss – two big, lovable brothers looking for a home where they can get the time, love, and attention they truly deserve. Ideally they’d love to stay together, but they can be rehomed separately to the right homes.
🐶 Ceff
Age: 3 years 9 months (DOB: 9 Oct 2021)
Breed: American Bulldog x Mastiff x Pitbull x Deigo
Registered & Microchipped
Not neutered
About Ceff:
Ceff is a giant softy who thinks he’s a lap dog. He absolutely loves being around his people and will happily follow you everywhere — even to the bathroom!
He’s fully house trained, knows basic commands, and is happy to chill at home while you’re out. He can pull on the lead initially but settles once he’s burned off some energy.
Ceff is great with kids and has lived happily alongside cats. He’s incredibly patient, affectionate, and just wants to be loved. His favourite things are warm spots by the fire and lounging on the couch.

Breed: American Bulldog x Mastiff x Pitbull x Deigo

About Boss:
Boss is just as loving as his brother — another oversized cuddle bug who thrives on companionship. He enjoys being involved in whatever you’re doing and loves attention.
He is house trained, knows basic commands, and settles well once his initial excitement passes on walks. Boss is clever too — he can open push-down door handles, but respects boundaries like baby gates.
He’s great with children, good with cats, and has a calm, gentle nature. Like Ceff, he loves warmth and a comfy place to sleep.
🏡 Their Ideal Home
A loving home with time to give them attention and companionship
Space to stretch their legs and regular walks
Someone who understands large breeds
Can be homed together or separately
ℹ️ Current Situation
Both dogs currently have free access to a yard and washhouse but sadly aren’t getting the walks and attention they deserve due to unforeseen circumstances. This is a very hard decision for their owner.

🚨FOSTER FAMILY FOUND, THANK YOU – INVERCARGILL 🚨
Hey everyone, we’re urgently looking for a temporary foster home for our two boys due to having to leave our property by 22nd April. We are hoping this is only short-term while we secure a new place that allows dogs 🤞
🐾 Rocky & Octane 🐾
• Rocky – 6-year-old Rottweiler
• Octane – 4-year-old Rottweiler x Huntaway
• Father & Son – very bonded, but we are open to discussing them going separately if needed
These boys are best mates and very affectionate. They love cuddles, attention, and being around their humans.
About them:
• Both have some separation anxiety and may take time to settle
• Used to sleeping inside or somewhere they feel safe
• Good with children and have been around cats
• Can be wary of new people at first, but warm up quickly (especially with treats 😄)
• Octane loves playing fetch
• Rocky is more relaxed but can be a bit mischievous
• Will need a secure yard
• Will need supervision around other dogs
Important:
• Rocky is currently on steroids for health reasons (happy to discuss with anyone interested)
What we can offer:
• We will provide food and cover Rocky’s medication
• We can handle vet visits if needed
• Happy to pick them up for walks, outings, etc.
We are absolutely heartbroken at the thought of rehoming them, so we’re really hoping someone kind can step in and help us during this time 🙏

Alongside his energetic nature, Tucker is incredibly affectionate. He loves cuddles, attention, and being close to his humans — he truly bonds with his people and just wants to be part of the action. 💛

• Does not cope well being left alone — will bark and cry if isolated
• Needs plenty of exercise, stimulation, and interaction
