Play isn’t “just playing.” 💛

When a child builds a tower, hosts a teddy bear picnic or creates a dollhouse family, they’re doing some of the most important work of childhood.

Through play, they learn to:
🌿 Solve problems
💬 Communicate with others
❤️ Build confidence and empathy
✨ Grow their imagination
🤲 Develop independence

At Papanui Toy Library, we’re passionate about giving families access to toys that inspire meaningful, open-ended play because every moment of play is an opportunity to learn and grow.

What has your little one been pretending to be lately? We’d love to hear in the comments!

Just reminding all of our wonderful toy library enthusiasts of our opening hours.

And a huge thank you to our amazing librarian, committee, volunteers, members and supporters.

Every toy cleaned, every shelf restocked and every helping hand makes a difference.

Together, we’re giving local children the opportunity to learn, imagine and grow through the power of play.

Thank you for helping us build a stronger community one toy at a time. 🧸💚

We are deeply grateful for everything you have given us Nat! The Committee is determined to continue building on all your successes.

🥧 Pie Fundraiser is on its way – Let the Competition Begin! 🥧

The Papanui Community Toy Library is gearing up for a delicious fundraiser with the amazing The Naked Baker pies 🤤

Our members will soon be asked to get behind this effort… and the committee is going head-to-head to see who can raise the most! 💥

👀 So… who do you think will take it out?

* Will John keep his hot streak going after his raffle fundraising success? 🔥
* Has Jennie’s “quality control” (aka pie sampling 😆) given her the edge to sell heaps?
* Will Kerri-Anne make sure every single one of her wedding guests goes home with pies? 💍🥧
* Or will someone quietly rally their grandparents, colleagues, and neighbours to steal the crown? 👑

It’s all on the line – bragging rights AND raising funds for more awesome toys for our tamariki ❤️

Drop your predictions below ⬇️ and keep an eye out for when orders open… you won’t want to miss these pies!
