The greatness of our nations is not measured by the size of our lands, but by the strength of our people.

Today I want us to remember the history of Samoa and its legacy with the ANZAC forces. A lesson in dignity that inspires us.

In World War I, young Samoans gave everything for global freedom. Their memory lives on in the Apia Clock.

In World War II, the Samoan people united to fund a Spitfire fighter jet and defend the world.

Today, their descendants continue to protect life in UN peacekeeping missions. We, as Pacific Islanders, carry that same spirit of resilience, brotherhood, and dignity. May the history of Samoa remind us that no community is small when it fights with heart.

Let us remain steadfast in defending our territory and our culture! The Pacific united makes history.
