Yesterday was deeply meaningful for all of us.
As the Turkish community in New Zealand, we gathered in front of the Auckland War Memorial Museum, the ANZAC Monument, a symbolic place for both Türkiye and Aotearoa.
It was incredibly moving to see that everyone who attended came with one shared purpose:
To stand for a Free and Democratic Türkiye, even from 17,000 kilometers away from our homeland.
We sincerely thank everyone who took the time to be there and helped make this protest so powerful and beautiful.
We are still hopeful, because, as we’ve said before, without hope, there can be no change.
And one day, hopefully very soon, we will witness that they will face what they deserve. Justice shall be done.
