🎨 Arts and Craft Club 🎨

Happy Samoan Language Week! Art club’s activity applies a Samoan twist to the classic paper snowflake. Learning about a prevalent siapo motif, our tamariki will be able to explore concepts of symmetry, and apply their personal creativity to make the motif their own.

Fa'afetai tele lava to everyone who joined us at Te Puke O Tara Community Centre to celebrate Samoan Language Week 2026! This year's theme: "E afua mai i mauga tetele manuia o le nu'u - From the high mountains are the blessings of the village"

Having the presence of family, friends, community members and leaders reminds us of the mountains that continue to serve and bless our Ōtara village!

Special thanks and acknowledgements:
🌺 Auckland Councillor Lotu Fuli Fuli ForManukau, Ōtara-Papatoetoe Local Board Members Li'amanaia Lorenzo Kaisara, Topou Folau and Jeet Singh.
🌺 Guest speaker- former professional rugby league star, Ali Lauiti'iti. A special thank you to the Ministry for Pacific Peoples also for joining us as well as our Lead, Richie.
🌺 So'otanga Manuia, Sir Edmund Hillary Collegiate Middle School's first Samoan billigual unit for their wonderful performance and energy!
