Te Wiki o te Reo Māori starts on Sunday 14 September and runs through to 20 September.

This year's theme is "Ake, Ake, Ake – A Forever Language", celebrating the enduring strength of te reo Māori and the communities helping it flourish every day.

At Te Puke o Tara Community Centre, we're proud to support and celebrate Te Reo Māori as an important part of who we are as a community.

What a wonderful celebration of Tongan Language Week here at Te Puke o Tara Community Centre.

We are incredibly grateful to our Ōtara-Papatoetoe community for coming together and making this event so special. Thank you to everyone who attended and helped create a warm and vibrant atmosphere as we celebrated Tongan language, culture, and identity.

A heartfelt thank you to all our guests, especially our Ōtara-Papatoetoe Local Board members for their continued support. A special acknowledgement to our Local Board Chair, who shared a song with us, adding to the joy and spirit of the occasion.

We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to John Pulu for gifting us a beautiful song that made the event even more memorable.

Special thanks to our incredible staff from Te Puke O Tara Community Centre and Ōtara Library, whose hard work, dedication, and teamwork helped make the day a success.

A huge thank you to Tupu Youth Library for their fantastic performance. We loved having you join us and share your talents with our community.

Together, we celebrated our language, culture, and community with pride.
