as the First Bachelors program in IOE Thapathali Campus, Nepal. The Department of Industrial Engineering has gone through various ups and downs in this course of time and the students under this Department have always co-ordinated with the Department and its faculties. The students in coordination with the department in 2063 B.S. came up with a novel idea of establishing an umbrella organization w
hich would work in the interest of students and the Department as a whole. As such Society of Industrial Engineering Students (SOIES Nepal) was established and registered as a NGO in District Administration Office the same year. Since its establishment, SOIES Nepal has worked as an intermediary organization for the sharing of ideas and experience between Industrial Engineering students, passed out Graduates and the Industries. SOIES Nepal has always emphasized on the all-round development of the students. SOIES has conducted various trainings, seminars and workshops as the supplements to excellence in academic activities. These activities have served to boost the traits of leadership, group work, motivation, decisiveness and self-confidence among the students. SOIES Nepal has always been a guardian organization for the Industrial Engineering students guiding them from the orientation on the very first day up to the projects and OJT in the final year. SOIES Nepal has acted as a medium of interaction and communication between the senior graduates and the students. The students have regularly benefitted from the guidance of the senior graduates regarding future scopes and study. In addition to this, SOIES Nepal has always worked for building positive relations with the Government institutions like IEMP, Department of Industry, Department of Labor and various other industries.
