Climate Vanguard Fellowship Day 02 June 20, 2026

The second day of the Climate Vanguard Fellowship featured an enriching session on โ€œBiodiversity, Forestry, and Ecosystem Conservationโ€ led by HOD, Department of Environmental Science , Tri-Chandra Multiple Campus, Asst. Prof, PhD Kamal Raj Gosai.

The session explored the critical role of biodiversity and forest ecosystems in maintaining ecological balance, supporting livelihoods and enhancing resilience to climate change. Participants gained insights into the importance of conserving natural habitats, protecting species diversity and promoting sustainable forest management practices. Discussions also highlighted the growing threats posed by habitat degradation, unsustainable resource use and climate change, along with the need for evidence-based conservation strategies.

The interactive session encouraged fellows to view environmental challenges through an integrated lens, emphasizing the interconnectedness of biodiversity, forests, ecosystems and human well-being. It served as a valuable opportunity to deepen understanding of conservation issues and inspire informed action toward a more sustainable future.

Climate Vanguard Fellowship โ€“ Day 01.June 19, 2026

The first learning session of the Climate Vanguard Fellowship commenced with an insightful discussion on โ€œUnderstanding Climate Change: Nepal and South Asiaโ€, facilitated by Nepalese Youth for Climate Action (NYCA) National Network Coordinator Ms. Aakriti Dotel and Adjunct Faculty, University of South Asia, Bangladesh Ms. Rubaya Nasrin Shejuti.

The session provided fellows with a deeper understanding of the science of climate change and its far-reaching impacts across Nepal and the South Asian region. Discussions explored the causes and consequences of a changing climate, regional vulnerabilities and the interconnected environmental, social and economic challenges faced by communities. Participants also reflected on the importance of informed action, climate resilience and the role of youth in addressing one of the most pressing issues of our time.

A meaningful start to the fellowship journey, the session laid a strong foundation for future learning, critical thinking and collaborative climate action.
