FKB (Freedom Kit Bag) was distributed to girls and women in Ward Nos. 1 and 2 of Ramaroshan Rural Municipality in Achham district, aiming to support safe, respectful, and dignified menstrual practices. This initiative is expected to help reduce stigma, discrimination, and misconceptions associated with menstruation while strengthening the confidence of girls and women.
SAMABIKAS Nepal has been continuously implementing such initiatives in Achham district with support from FKB. These efforts play a crucial role in enhancing awareness about menstruation and contribute significantly to social justice, health rights, and women’s empowerment. Additionally, by providing reusable Freedom Kits during menstruation, the initiative promotes environmental friendly solution

An exposure visit held on April 27 in Kailali engaged farmer groups, CSOs/CBOs, and municipal representatives to strengthen learning on advocacy and nutrition governance. Participants explored methods to identify food-insecure communities, analyze socio-economic barriers, and apply a rights-based approach. Interaction with YAC Nepal provided insights into causes of food insecurity and local budgeting strategies. Field visits to freed Kamaiya, Dalit, and farming communities offered practical understanding of challenges such as limited access to land, water, and services. Participants also observed innovative practices like municipality-supported contract farming, enhancing their knowledge for improving local advocacy and inclusive development initiatives.
