We were honoured to host the Plan International Nigeria Country Director, Charles Usie PhD for a friendly visit, which began at the HARAF office with our Executive Director and Founder, Madam Galaxy Thami The meeting was an opportunity to share ideas, exchange insights on community-led programming, and explore areas for deeper collaboration.

Following the visit, we toured the Livelihood Incubation Center in Fufore, where young people and women receive hands-on training and mentorship across key agricultural value chains, including poultry production, goat production, fish farming, crop production, and vegetable farming.

Beyond production, participants are equipped with skills in value addition and financial literacy, so they can turn agricultural activities into sustainable, income-generating businesses. It was a meaningful opportunity to showcase the work on the ground and the people driving change in their communities.
Thank you to PLAN Nigeria for taking the time to engage directly with our team and beneficiaries

NFIs Distribution

A total of 297 beneficiaries, 141 in Shuwa, 81 in Duhu, and 75 in Gulak all received Improved NFI Kits under the NHF Funded Project “Enhancing Safety and Dignity of Displaced Populations through Protection Services, CCCM, and Cash/NFI Assistance” in Madagali LGA, targeting vulnerable displaced households across the communities of Duhu, Shuwa, and Gulak.

The distribution was conducted in the presence of key stakeholders, including the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency (ADSEMA), and a representative of the Chairman of Madagali LGA, whose participation strengthened coordination, accountability, and community trust.

Beyond addressing immediate humanitarian needs, the intervention contributed significantly to improving the living conditions and overall well-being of displaced populations. Restoring dignity, giving affected individuals and families a renewed sense of safety, respect, and control in the midst of crisis. Through the provision of essential NFIs such as bedding, hygiene kits, and household supplies, families were better equipped to rebuild daily routines, maintain personal hygiene, and create safer and more comfortable living environments, particularly for women, children, and the elderly.

Every kit distributed represented more than relief support; it was a step toward restoring hope, protecting dignity, and empowering communities to move forward.

HARAF – Close Out Ceremony, NHF Health Project in Dikwa

HARAF successfully concluded its Nigeria Humanitarian Fund (NHF) health project in Dikwa LGA with a close out ceremony bringing together community leaders, health authorities, and partners.

The project delivered life-saving services through mobile health teams that reached hard-to-access settlements with primary healthcare, immunization, and nutrition support. Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE) activities empowered communities with vital health information on disease prevention, maternal health, and hygiene promotion, while skilled birth attendants ensured safe child delivery for pregnant women in displacement and host communities. Stakeholders commended HARAF’s commitment, noting significant improvements in health access, maternal outcomes, and community trust.

The ceremony celebrated milestones achieved, honoured the dedication of health workers and volunteers, and reaffirmed HARAF’s commitment to sustaining gains through continued partnership with local health systems.

At HARAF, we remain committed to raising our voice for the vulnerable, defending the dignity of women, children, displaced persons, and every at-risk individual whose safety is threatened by conflict, abuse, neglect, or injustice.

We understand that protection is not merely an intervention—it is the preservation of hope, the defense of human worth, and the safeguarding of tomorrow.

In every community we serve, we choose to speak where silence has failed, to act where fear has prevailed, and to protect lives today because every life secured is a future preserved.

At HARAF, we believe that meaningful impact happens when strategy meets presence on the ground.

Our Director of Grants and Operations, alongside the Head of Programs, conducted a monitoring visit to our intervention areas in Dikwa.

The visit provided an opportunity to connect directly with field teams and assess the progress of key program components, including the project storage facility, mobile health services, Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE), and supported health facilities.

Beyond oversight, the engagement focused on listening—understanding on-the-ground realities, strengthening implementation processes, and ensuring that every activity aligns with our commitment to delivering quality, accountable, and people-centered interventions.

We are proud of the dedication shown by our field teams, whose efforts continue to drive progress toward achieving our project goals and improving access to essential services for vulnerable communities.

Together, we remain committed to learning, adapting, and delivering impact where it matters most.

HARAF, with funding from the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation , is committed to supporting girls, women, and youth to access resources and thrive.

By connecting farmers to off-takers under the Thrive and Rise project, we’ve built reliable market channels that turn harvests into stable incomes.

When girls, women, and youth control income, whole communities grow stronger. That’s the impact we’re proud to stand behind.
