The Advocacy Officer will lead, and support initiatives aimed at promoting human rights,
the rule of law, good governance, and anti-corruption efforts. The role involves policy
research, stakeholder engagement, campaign development, and public awareness
activities to influence decision-making at local, national, and international levels.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Advocacy & Policy Engagement:
a. Develop and implement advocacy strategies to promote human rights, the rule of law, good governance, and anti-corruption reforms.
b. Monitor legal and policy developments and provide analysis to support advocacy efforts.
c. Engage with policymakers, government agencies, and civil society organizations to influence policy changes.
d. Prepare position papers, reports, and briefing documents on relevant issues.
2. Campaigns & Public Awareness:
a. Design and execute awareness campaigns on key advocacy issues.
b. Organize public forums, workshops, and discussions to engage diverse.
c. Develop advocacy materials, including press releases, articles, and digital content.
d.Collaborate with media outlets to enhance public understanding of human rights
and governance issues.
3. Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement:
a. Build and maintain partnerships with local, national, and international organizations.
b. Represent the organization in advocacy coalitions, networks, and policy.
c. Coordinate meetings, roundtables, and dialogues with key stakeholders.
4. Research & Reporting:
a. Conduct research on human rights violations, governance challenges, and corruption cases.
b. Document and report advocacy activities, including impact assessments.
c. Track progress on policy reforms and contribute to periodic reports.
Qualifications & Experience:
1. Bachelor’s or master’s degree in law, Political Science, International Relations, Public Policy, or a related field.
2. 2 years of experience in advocacy, policy research, or a related field.
3. Strong understanding of human rights principles, governance frameworks, and anticorruption mechanisms.
