Strengthening Nutrition Capacity for Malnutrition Prevention

With acute malnutrition continuing to affect children and families across Northeast Nigeria, strengthening prevention alongside treatment remains critical.

The HOPE360 team recently participated in a capacity-building training on Small-Quantity Lipid-Based Nutrient Supplements (SQ-LNS)—a preventive nutrition intervention designed to help prevent acute malnutrition and contribute to reducing Global Acute Malnutrition (GAM) rates across the Northeast.

The training strengthened participants’ technical knowledge and practical skills, including the capacity to cascade the learning to staff and field teams, thereby expanding the reach and impact of this important intervention.

The session brought together nutrition partners from international and local organisations and was organised by Life At Best Development Initiative (LABDI) in collaboration with Catai CENTER, Future Resilience and Development Foundation, and the Northeastern Nigeria Nutrition Sector.

At HOPE360, we remain committed to strengthening local capacity, collaboration, and community-based approaches that contribute to better nutrition outcomes for vulnerable children and families.

Together, we can prevent malnutrition and build healthier, more resilient communities.
