BACKGROUND
Going by some statistics, poverty is identified as a major factor which play critical role in exposing women and young people to indulge into all forms of evil work. The inability of some parents to cater for the basic needs of their children such as Enrolment in school, feeding, healthcare and others, increase young peoples’ vulnerability to employment as agents to cause violence, conflicts, political and communal crisis. Women in many families are faced with financial difficulties, and find it difficult to feed or cater for their children, especially whose husbands have passed away. It is
on record that women are mostly left with the responsibility to provide for the family, especially in broken homes. The absence of women inclusion in governance and politics and the lack of an effective policy on social welfare system for such category of women and young people, to be financially included and economically empowered, has for long frustrated the drive towards women financial independence and self-reliance. Therefore, the continuous absence of an effective economic empowerment scheme through effective and workable social welfare system for vulnerable women, shall continue to affect the relevance of women in nation building, and deny them the opportunity to train and orient their children in the right manner towards contributing their quarter in the national development agenda. It is on the basis of the above that the focus of HD Dynamic NGO is centered on the need for women in Nigeria in general to get involved and play an increased participatory role in democracy, governance, socio-political and economic development of the region and the country at large. HD Dynamic NGO works to strategically deliver on this agenda, to genuinely champion the course of Women Development Agenda, through an enhanced engagement of both civil society organizations, women, citizens, politicians and non-State actors, and to provide more space for women to further give their contribution in nation building and general development. HD Dynamic NGO also helps communities, identifies and initiates development measures, provides training and capacity building support for the pro-poor organizations and individuals, carrying out research and advocacy in favor of vulnerable and less privileged people.
