SOKAMSA FIRST CONGRESS MEETING OF THE YEAR
13TH FEBRUARY, 2026
The Southern Kaduna Medical Students’ Association (SOKAMSA) held her Congress Meeting on 13th February 2026, chaired by Mr. Marcus Emmanuel Tisan.
The President Comrade Emmanuel John welcomed members and emphasized unity, participation, and strengthening the Association. New members were officially received and encouraged to get actively involved.
Key resolutions from the Congress include:
• Prioritizing harmonization discussions with Allied Health Science (AHS) students before conducting new elections.
• Constitution of a committee to engage AHS leadership and develop clear bylaw proposals. The committee is to report back within two weeks.
• Agreement that constitutional review may follow structured bylaw drafting.
• Emphasis on improved member participation, dues collection, documentation, alumni engagement, and stronger internal structures.
• Commitment to inclusivity, unity, and collaboration with sister bodies.
The 8th President of KASUMSA, Faisal Salisu, pledged collaboration with SOKAMSA leadership.
The meeting was adjourned for two weeks.
