On Wednesday, 29th July, 2026, some distinguished members of the Executive of the Adelagun Memorial Grammar School Alumni Association (AMGSA), ably led by the President of the Association, Mr. MASHOOD Olayode, alongside the Chairman of the Alumni Committee, Mr. OLADIPO Olayemi, paid a courtesy visit to our alma mater, Adelagun Memorial Grammar School.
The delegation also included other committed executive members of the Association, namely Alabi Sekinat, Director of Welfare, and Kola Aderibigbe, P.R.O., Alumni Committee.
The visit was indeed a successful and fruitful one. The delegates first visited the Senior School where they were warmly received by the Principal, Mr. Yusuff S. O., alongside the Vice Principals, Mr. Babarinde and Mrs. Makinde, and members of staff, including Mr. Oyato, the Economics teacher; Mr. Sanusi; Mr. Daud; and Mr. Alabi. The visit to the Junior also had them meet with the Vice Principal Mr. Akinade, due to the fact that the principal wasn't on seat.
The delegation did not visit empty-handed. As a token of goodwill and appreciation, the Executive members presented bundles of exercise books to the school. It is important to clarify that this donation is only a token of the visit and should not be mistaken for the school development projects which the Association intends to embark upon.
The visit provided an opportunity for meaningful discussions on the current state of the school, the challenges confronting the learning environment, and areas where the Alumni Association can intervene to contribute meaningfully to the school's development.
We are delighted that the objective of the visit was achieved, as a number of areas requiring alumni intervention were identified. These observations will serve as a guide as the Association begins to consider practical and sustainable ways of supporting our alma mater.
THE JOURNEY TO GIVING BACK HAS BEGUN!
As former students of this great institution, we owe a duty to give back to the school that contributed immensely to our growth, education and development.
This is only the beginning. We are committed to doing our best to support our alma mater and contribute our quota towards creating a better, safer and more conducive learning environment for the students coming after us.
However, this responsibility cannot be shouldered by the Executive alone.
We therefore call on all alumni of Adelagun Memorial Grammar School to rise to the occasion and embrace their responsibilities as proud sons and daughters of our alma mater. Let us support the Association with our resources, ideas, expertise, connections and goodwill.
Every contribution counts. Every effort matters. Together, we can make a lasting difference.
United we stand; divided we fall.
