PETITION TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA AND THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY
Follow the BOKKOS UNITED NATIONS channel on WhatsApp: https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029Vb7R6Rp7z4klmeZnIK0k
Subject: Petition for Stronger Legislative, Regulatory, and Enforcement Measures Against Fraudulent Investment (Ponzi) Schemes in Nigeria

His Excellency,
The President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces,
Federal Republic of Nigeria,
A*o Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Through:

The President of the Senate, Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The Speaker, House of Representatives.
The Senate Committee on Capital Market.
The House Committee on Capital Market and Institutions.
The Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy.
The Director-General, Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
The Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
The Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The Inspector-General of Police (Nigeria Police Force).
The Director-General, Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU).

PETITION

Your Excellency,

I respectfully write this petition as a concerned Nigerian citizen to seek urgent government intervention regarding the increasing threat posed by fraudulent investment schemes, commonly known as Ponzi schemes, which have caused significant financial losses to many Nigerians.

These schemes continue to target students, civil servants, traders, entrepreneurs, retirees, farmers, and unemployed youths by promising unrealistic and guaranteed returns. When the schemes collapse, investors lose their life savings, resulting in hardship for families and reduced public confidence in legitimate investment opportunities.

A Ponzi scheme is a fraudulent investment arrangement that pays returns to existing investors primarily from money contributed by new investors rather than from genuine profits generated through legitimate business activities. Such schemes are inherently unsustainable and eventually fail.

Over the years, several platforms have collapsed or have been publicly reported or investigated over allegations of operating as Ponzi or Ponzi-like schemes. Examples include:

MMM Nigeria
Twinkas
Ultimate Cycler
Get Help Worldwide (GHW)
I-Charity Club
NNN Nigeria
Loom Money
MBA Forex
RackSterli
Chinmark Group
86FB
FinAfrica
Ovaioza Farm Produce Storage Business
CBEX (Crypto Bridge Exchange)
XM Future Music Group
NRC
Agape Trade, Ibadan

While allegations against any platform should ultimately be determined through proper investigations and the courts, the repeated losses suffered by Nigerians demonstrate the need for stronger preventive measures.

LEGAL BASIS

This petition is respectfully presented in recognition of:

The Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended), which establishes the responsibility of government to promote the security and welfare of the people.
The Investments and Securities Act, which provides the legal framework for the regulation of Nigeria's capital market and empowers the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to regulate investment activities.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (Establishment) Act, which empowers the EFCC to investigate and prosecute economic and financial crimes.
The Money Laundering (Prevention and Prohibition) Act, which provides measures to prevent the movement of illicit funds through the financial system.
Other applicable laws and regulations administered by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), and relevant law enforcement agencies.

OUR REQUESTS

We respectfully request that the Federal Government and the National Assembly:

1. Review and strengthen existing legislation to provide more effective protection against fraudulent investment schemes.

2. Introduce stricter licensing, disclosure, and operational requirements for investment platforms and digital asset operators.

3. Increase funding and technical capacity for the SEC, EFCC, Nigeria Police Force, NFIU, and other relevant agencies to investigate and prosecute financial fraud promptly.

4. Direct regulators to identify and shut down suspected illegal investment operations in accordance with the law while protecting the rights of legitimate businesses.

5. Launch nationwide financial literacy and public awareness campaigns to educate Nigerians about investment fraud and warning signs.

6. Encourage stronger cooperation among the SEC, CBN, EFCC, NFIU, the Nigeria Police Force, and other relevant institutions for intelligence sharing and coordinated enforcement.

7. Strengthen mechanisms for citizens to report suspected investment fraud and receive timely responses from the appropriate authorities.

CONCLUSION

Your Excellency, financial fraud has devastated countless Nigerian families and undermined public confidence in lawful investment opportunities. We respectfully urge the Federal Government and the National Assembly to prioritize stronger legislation, effective regulation, public education, and vigorous enforcement to reduce the impact of fraudulent investment schemes.

Protecting Nigerians from financial exploitation is essential to strengthening the nation's economy, promoting investor confidence, and advancing sustainable national development.

We trust that this petition will receive the urgent attention it deserves in the interest of justice, economic stability, and the welfare of all Nigerians.

Respectfully submitted.

To the Youth Leader of Bokkos Progressive, popularly known as Tula, and the entire leadership team:

Leadership is not measured by how often leaders are seen in public or by visiting communities after problems have occurred. *True leadership is measured by the ability to provide direction, inspire hope, solve problems, and improve the lives of the people.

Leadership means:

Listening to the people.
Building practical solutions to community challenges.
Empowering young people through education, skills, and opportunities.
Promoting unity, peace, and development.
Being transparent and accountable to those you represent.

Bokkos Progressive has the potential to bring together young people from all 20 wards of Bokkos Local Government Area. Such a platform should be a strong voice for youth development, community service, and positive change.

Many young people have expressed concerns that the organization has not fully met these expectations. It is therefore important for the leadership to engage openly with the youth, communicate its goals and achievements, and remain accountable to the people it serves.

I respectfully call on the people of Ron, Kulere and Mushere, together with all stakeholders across Bokkos, to take an active interest in youth leadership by encouraging transparency, accountability, and constructive engagement.

If we want a peaceful, united, and progressive Bokkos, we must move beyond complaints and work together to build solutions. Every leader should remember that leadership is a responsibility to serve, not a privilege to seek personal recognition.

Together, through accountability, unity, and service, we can build a stronger and better Bokkos for everyone.

The Church in Our Present Generation: Returning to True Christianity

Follow the BOKKOS UNITED NATIONS channel on WhatsApp: https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029Vb7R6Rp7z4klmeZnIK0k
Good morning, beloved family, and happy Sunday to you all.

Today, I would like to share a heartfelt reflection about the condition of the church in our present generation and the way Christianity is practiced in many places today.

This message is not intended to condemn anyone, but to encourage us all to examine ourselves and return to the true foundation of our faith.

Who Is a Christian?

The word Christian was first used in the city of Antioch to describe people whose lives reflected the character of Jesus Christ.

The Bible says in Acts of the Apostles 11:26:

> “The disciples were called Christians first at Antioch.”

They were not called Christians because they attended meetings or carried titles, but because people saw Christ in them.

Their lives displayed:

Love
Humility
Holiness
Compassion
Sacrifice
Obedience to God

To be a Christian, therefore, is to live like Christ.

As First Epistle of John 2:6 says:

> “Whoever claims to live in Him must live as Jesus did.”

Christianity Is a Lifestyle, Not Merely a Religion

Christianity is not merely about belonging to a denomination, attending services, or using religious language.

It is a daily transformation of the heart.

Epistle to the Romans 12:2 says:

> “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”

A person may go to church every Sunday and still not know Christ personally.

Jesus warned in Gospel of Matthew 15:8:

> “These people honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me.”

The Church Is the People of God

Many people think the church is simply a building.

But Scripture teaches that the church is made up of believers.

First Epistle to the Corinthians 12:27 says:

> “Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.”

This means Christ should be visible in:

Our homes
Schools
Offices
Markets
Communities
Relationships

The true church exists wherever believers live according to God's Word.

The Example of the Early Church

The early Christians were devoted to God's Word and to one another.

Acts of the Apostles 2:42 says:

> “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.”

They shared their possessions and cared for the needy.

Acts 4:34–35 says:

> “There were no needy persons among them.”

Example: Dorcas (Tabitha)

Dorcas was known for helping widows and making clothes for the poor (Acts 9:36). Her Christianity was visible in practical acts of love.

Example: Barnabas

Barnabas sold land and gave the money to support the church (Acts 4:36–37). He put God's kingdom above personal wealth.

When Religion Becomes a Business

In many places today, Christianity is sometimes treated more like a business than a calling.

People may focus on:

Titles
Popularity
Wealth
Buildings
Personal empires

Yet Jesus overturned the tables of those who commercialized worship.

Gospel of Matthew 21:13:

> “My house will be called a house of prayer, but you are making it ‘a den of robbers.’”

The gospel was never meant to enrich a few; it was meant to save and transform lives.

Jesus Sent His Disciples in Simplicity

When Jesus sent out His disciples, He taught dependence on God.

Gospel of Luke 9:3:

> “Take nothing for the journey—no staff, no bag, no bread, no money, no extra shirt.”

This showed that ministry is built on:

Faith
Obedience Service
Trust in God

The Danger of Trusting in Riches

The Bible does not condemn wealth itself, but it warns against making wealth our security.

Book of Proverbs 11:28:

> “Whoever trusts in his riches will fall.”

Jesus also said in Gospel of Matthew 6:24:

> “You cannot serve both God and money.”

Example: Rich Young Ruler

He wanted eternal life but could not surrender his possessions (Matthew 19:16–22).

Example: Judas Iscariot

He followed Jesus but allowed greed to destroy him.

---

God Values Character Above Wealth

Book of Proverbs 22:1:

> “A good name is more desirable than great riches.”

Many people pursue fame and titles, but God seeks integrity and righteousness.

---

True Christianity Cares for the Poor

Book of Proverbs 19:17:

> “Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord.”

Epistle of James 1:27:

> “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress.”

Example: Good Samaritan

While others passed by, the Samaritan showed compassion to a wounded stranger (Luke 10:25–37).

---

Not Everyone Who Says “Lord, Lord”

Jesus warned that outward religion alone is not enough.

Gospel of Matthew 7:21:

> “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven.”

God looks beyond appearances to the heart.

---

A Form of Godliness Without Power

Second Epistle to Timothy 3:5:

> “Having a form of godliness but denying its power.”

This describes religion that appears spiritual but lacks:

Holiness
Love
Repentance
Obedience
Transformation

---

The Fruit of Genuine Christianity

Jesus said in Matthew 7:16:

> “By their fruit you will recognize them.”

Epistle to the Galatians 5:22–23 lists the fruit of the Spirit:

Love
Joy
Peace
Patience
Kindness
Goodness
Faithfulness
Gentleness
Self-control

These qualities, not titles or possessions, reveal true faith.

Biblical Examples of Faithful Believers

Stephen

He preached boldly and forgave his killers (Acts 7:60).

Apostle Paul

He endured suffering to spread the gospel.

Daniel

He remained faithful in a corrupt society.

Joseph

He chose integrity over temptation.

Questions for Self-Examination

Let us ask ourselves:

Do people see Christ in me?
Am I growing in holiness and love?
Do I serve others sincerely?
Am I pursuing God or personal gain?
Does my life reflect the fruit of the Spirit?

Second Epistle to the Corinthians 13:5 says:

> “Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith.”

Returning to the True Foundation

Book of Proverbs 3:5–6:

> “Trust in the Lord with all your heart... and He will make your paths straight.”

Let us return to:

Prayer
Holiness
Humility
Compassion
Sound doctrine
Obedience to God's Word

Final Prayer

May God help us to become believers whose lives truly reflect Christ.

May our Christianity be genuine, powerful, and visible in our words, actions, and character.

May we be known not only by what we say, but by how faithfully we live.

Thank you, beloved family, and may God bless and guide us always.

Follow the BOKKOS UNITED NATIONS channel on WhatsApp: https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029Vb7R6Rp7z4klmeZnIK0k

I had the opportunity to attend the Kulere Youth Congress Summit, and I want to sincerely commend the Youth President, Mr. Panye Mwar, and his entire entourage for the remarkable steps they are taking to make Kulere a better place for everyone.

I encourage all youth leaders across the communities of Bokkos Local Government Area to learn from this initiative. The time has come for our youths to rise, unite, and speak with one voice on the challenges facing our communities, including:

1. Insecurity and the protection of lives and property.
2. Poor network coverage.
3. Bad roads.
4. Lack of development.
5. Job creation and employment opportunities for our youths.
6. Improved education and skills acquisition.
7. Better healthcare services.
8. Access to clean water and electricity.
9. Support for agriculture and local businesses.
10. Youth empowerment and economic opportunities.

Now is the time to get to work. There should be no turning back.

I call on all elected representatives—including councillors, the Chairman, members of the House of Assembly, and members of the House of Representatives—to work hand in hand with the youths to address these challenges and bring meaningful development to Bokkos Local Government Area.

The youth are the strength and future of every nation. When young people are empowered, communities prosper, peace is strengthened, and development becomes possible.

May God bless everyone who supports this movement—verbally, financially, and physically. Together, let us build a peaceful, secure, united, and prosperous Kulere and Bokkos for present and future generations.
