Today in Abuja, our founder Fauzuddeen Mahmoud joined the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy coordination, Ms Hadiza Bala Usman and a plethora of renowned civic leaders from across the country in assessing the challenges and impact of the Citizens Delivery Tracker, a civic tool empowering Nigerians to demand accountability and improved service delivery.

He shared valuable insights on how best to contextualise the initiative to suit peculiarities of subnational systems because ultimately, improved service delivery initiatives must be centred around systems closer to the common man!

Furthermore, he also shared how we at ZamTracka are leveraging technology to create platforms that intersect people and power so that development outcomes are co-created to improve service delivery and human capital at the subnational level.

Last week, we were at the Open Government Partnership office, Nigeria at the federal ministry of budget of planning on an official bilateral meeting In furtherance of our STAT OGP project in Zamfara, with support from the Naijayouthfund

The meeting among other things, focused on strengthening collaborative frameworks between us and the national body such that the scale and scope of governance reform interventions are aligned to maximize impact especially at the subnational level.

In attendance were all the critical stakeholders at the national office and actionable plans were ratified to ensure seamless correspondence and action.

Today, with the gracious funding support from The Nigeria Youth Futures Fund ng_youthfund, Naijayouthfund, we are proud to officially unveil the STAT-OGP Project—a bold step toward strengthening transparency, accountability, and inclusive governance in our dear state.

For 6 years, we have remained committed to one clear mission: empowering citizens with information and tools to demand better governance. From tracking public budgets to facilitating community dialogues, from strengthening monitoring systems to building youth capacity for civic engagement, our journey has always been about one thing: making governance work for the people of Zamfara.

We have consistently advocated for open budgeting processes, improved service delivery, and citizen participation in decision-making. Through evidence-based advocacy, constructive engagement with government institutions, and community-driven accountability mechanisms, we have contributed to systemic reforms that are gradually reshaping governance in Zamfara State.

The STAT-OGP Project builds on this foundation.

It seeks to deepen Zamfara’s alignment with Open Government principles by strengthening access to information, promoting participatory governance, enhancing public sector transparency, and creating sustainable feedback mechanisms between citizens and government. This is not just a project! It is a platform for collaboration, co-creation, and shared responsibility.

As we unveil this project today, we reaffirm our commitment to working with government actors, civil society, traditional leaders, youth, women, and community stakeholders to institutionalize reforms that will outlive this initiative.
