The problem of destitutes and orphans is a global one and it is not new to Sri Lanka. Thank God for many relief organizations, NGO’s and churches taking such care of these children. The Sri Lanka Village Gospel Mission (SLVGM) was also compelled to take care of a few children at the start and thus Maranatha Children’s Home was established in 1997. y and it is registered under The Company Act No. GA 189 and Social Services Department Register No 299 in the Ambagamuwa Divisional Secretariat. We work closely with the Probation Department and Prison Department. Some of the children from prison are sent here for rehabilitation and restoration. Till Jesus returns to the earth the problem of uncared children will exist and therefore the name is given as “Maranatha,” which means Jesus is coming soon.
