CULTURE CLUB YOUTH PROJECT

At our Culture Club youth club sessions at the Jack Falle Community Centre, weโ€™ve been getting up to all sorts! ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ’š๐ŸŒŠ

From celebrating Motherโ€™s Day ๐ŸŒธ and St Patrickโ€™s Day โ˜˜๏ธ, to creating wellbeing jars for Mental Health Awareness ๐Ÿง โœจ, and even squeezing in a beach clean to help look after our environment ๐ŸŒโ™ป๏ธ

Weโ€™ve also been busy planning for our YOSCARS, with our young people taking the lead by choosing the roles theyโ€™d like to take on for the big night ๐ŸŽฌโญ

If youโ€™re from a migrant background and would like to come along, get involved, and join the fun, please get in touch with Catia at [email protected] ๐Ÿ’Œ

MAUFANT YOUTH PROJECT:

We have had a great weekend at the Queens Silver Jubilee Activity Centre (Crabbe) with our young helpers & workers and Juniors!

The young helpers & workers did their young helpers training. This included role responsibilities, expectations, exploring activites and resources and setting goals to achieve for personal development ๐ŸŽฏ

They then planned and delivered several activities to the Juniors for the rest of the weekend, these included a scavenger hunt, splat, campfire songs, capture the flag, talent show, just dance, karaoke and more ๐Ÿšฉ ๐ŸŽค ๐Ÿƒ ๐Ÿ•บ

They also helped with cooking/making and serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. They also helped to clean up, tidy away and supported the staff team with management of resources!

We know the Juniors had a fantastic time and this was largely down to the support from the young helpers! We couldn't have done it without them ๐ŸŒŸ

Thankyou again to all of our young helpers and young workers ๐Ÿ‘

This week in we are shining a light on all the amazing volunteers we have across our projects that help keep our wide offer open.

We have a variety of different roles across JYS including trainee counsellors at the Youth Enquiry Service (YES Project). Tom is one of fantastic volunteers there who was inspired to volunteer at the YES Project having had experience of the service first hand.

Thank you Tom for the support that you offer to our young people in your counselling sessions!

If this is something that you may be interested in doing then please email [email protected] and we can explore the possibility of offering volunteer placements.

Throughout we are shining a light on the different roles our amazing volunteers play across the service.

Alfie attended St Ouen's Youth Project growing up and is now the chairman on the charity committee. Alfie chairs the meeting which happen 6 times a year and helps with fundraising and the running of the charity. He recommends for others to do as a way of improving different skills and giving back to the community.

Most of our projects have a charity attached to them and we are always looking for people to volunteer in a range of roles including chairperson, secretary, treasurer and general committee members. If you have a couple of hours a month to spare and are interested in one of these roles please email [email protected]

Thank you to Alfie and all of our volunteers across the committee's!
