Lovely treat for Chant’tie Jersey Academy of Music last night! They got to hear some visitors singing some fabulous close harmony and then sing with them, experiencing singing with a mature mixed SATB sound. Our visitors (camping in the garden) put this together the evening before. It was a chance for our little ones to see how quickly, with great reading skills, you can put together a really fine performance. You don’t have to rehearse for long and it can be so much fun! They then had the experience of singing a Bruckner motet in Latin as an SATB choir, conducted by one of the visiting singers. So sweet to see our year 5s having a really good go at that, and reinforcing the message that yes, you CAN sing music theatre and pop arrangements as well as Classical music really well, and be proud to do it all!
These young singers met on a The Rodolfus Foundation course a year ago. They’re all still at school, just leaving or first year uni. We cannot recommend highly enough applying for these courses, or for National Youth Choir courses.
All that sight-reading is worth it and you make friends for life. Keep at it! Choral singing at top level is fun fun fun!
We are keen to encourage all singers, but especially welcome young boys as tenors and basses are very scarce in adult choirs. We provide a great space for them to sing together.

A lovely Christmas event here.. just over one hour and featuring young professional choral singers from the UK and Jersey singing together. Should be joyous!

Join us for an hour-long Christmas concert with Britten's 'A Ceremony of Carols' and music by Handel, Bach, Berlioz and Poulenc.

We’ve got Beatles, Brahms and Mendelssohn going on this term. Absolutely blew us away to work on some really complex close harmony with our senior chamber choir of 16 singers last night… scoring AATTBB … no shortage of brilliantly musical tenors and basses to join our fabulous sopranos and altos here! (Sopranos on the top alto line!)
