General information

The Society manage a number of Atlantic Wall fortifications which are open to the public for tours. Most are open on weekends in summer months, with guided tours available year-round. The Jersey Channel Islands Occupation Society's collection of Occupation ephemera, photographs, etc. was deposited at the Jersey Archive in September 2001. This has ensured the long-term preservation and security of the collection whilst being stored in the correct environmental conditions. Society members can now view the collection more easily in the comfortable reading rooms of the Jersey Archive. The CIOS collection catalogue can be accessed at the Jersey Hertiage Trust's website or by visiting Jersey Archive in Clarence Road, St Helier, Jersey (Tel: 01534 833333). Any of the fortifications under the ca\re of the CIOS can be visited year-round. Additionally, we have several bunkers which are not regularly opened to the public that we can take you to. These include the distinctive Marine Peilstände und Meßstellen (MP 3) Naval artillery direction and range-finding tower at Les Landes, St Ouen; the Type 609 Infantry Regimental Commander's bunker at Le Coin Varin, St Peter; plus the right-handed Jäger and 631 type casemate bunkers at Resistance Nest La Carriere, just south of Le Braye at St Ouen's Bay.
