L’Associazione Kora nasce per offrire percorsi educativi di breve e lungo termine, sui temi dell’ambiente, la sostenibilità e l’alimentazione

L’Associazione Kora nasce nell’agosto 2015 a Passignano sul Trasimeno con lo scopo di offrire, a persone di qualunque età (in particolare giovani), percorsi educativi di breve e lungo termine, sui temi dell’ambiente, la sostenibilità e l’alimentazione con l’obiettivo di creare una coscienza critica per convivere con la poco sostenibile globalizzazione alimentare ed edilizia in cui viviamo. Le attività principali di Kora sono:
- Campi di lavoro
- Corsi di cucina e processi alimentari
- Campi estivi
- Scambi giovanili
- Volontariato di lungo e breve termine
- Stage e tirocini

L’Associazione Kora aiuta nella gestione di Casa Erta, una struttura che può ospitare fino a 45 persone, in collaborazione con la fattoria didattica “La Buona Terra" e la Cooperativa di Sperimentazione per lo sviluppo sostenibile situata a Passignano sul Trasimeno. I fondi per realizzare le proprie attività vengono ricavati attraverso quote associative, quote di partecipazione, servizi a terzi (ad esempio corsi di formazione per altre associazioni e progettazione), donazioni, sovvenzioni pubbliche locali, nazionali e della Comunità Europea. Kora Association was established on 25 August 2015 in Passignano sul Trasimeno (Italy) with the aim to offer, people of any age (mainly youth), short and long term learning opportunities about environment, sustainability and food with the objective of creating a critical awareness towards the little sustainable globalised food and building methods in which we live. Kora’s main activities are:

🌱 FARM IN ACTION: new volunteering opportunity in Italy!

We're looking for volunteers ready to spend a month on a farm by Lake Trasimeno, getting their hands dirty and living sustainably as part of an international team.

You'll take care of gardens and outdoor spaces, learn permaculture with certified trainers, help with small repairs and upcycling projects, cook seasonal meals for the group and share workshops on sustainability, food awareness and intercultural dialogue.

Accommodation, food, pocket money, health insurance and travel costs are covered, thanks to the European Solidarity Corps.

Goodbye, Camille! 💚 Five months of good energy, beautiful memories, and a lot of delicious cakes!

Thanks to Giosef Torino, we had the pleasure of hosting Camille at Kora, and what a wonderful addition to our team she was! From the kitchen to the garden, she brought enthusiasm, creativity and care to everything she did. 🌿

But let’s hear it from Camille herself 👇

“My name is Camille, and for several years I have been exploring ecological and social transition through various professional and volunteering experiences. Now, I want to specialise in what I am most passionate about: sustainable cooking and gardening 🌿

When I discovered Kora’s ESC volunteering programme “Garden to Plate”, it felt like the perfect opportunity to gain hands-on experience, contribute to meaningful Erasmus+ projects and live in an intercultural, natural environment 🌾

For five months, I lived on a farm, surrounded by olive trees, with a view of one of Italy’s largest lakes. I spent my days between the kitchen, the garden and the volunteers’ communal house, while also exploring beautiful places in Italy 🇮🇹

I helped cook for Erasmus+ groups, prepared coffee breaks, made preserves from farm-grown produce, gardened, and created videos for social media. I learnt new recipes, how to grow and harvest plants, how to dry herbs, and how to edit videos 👩‍🍳👩‍🌾

I brought home nice memories, good recipes, a better understanding of myself, and a desire to keep exploring sustainable cooking and gardening!

To anyone hesitating about joining a similar project: go for it! ESC is a truly enriching opportunity to live abroad, meet people from different backgrounds and develop skills in a field you care about ✨”

🦉 Life at Parco Faunistico Piano dell'Abatino ODV goes on, one species at a time! 🌿

And behind the daily care of all these animals, there are also our European Solidarity Corps volunteers. Today, we're sharing the first three months of Stacy 🇫🇷, volunteering at Parco Faunistico Piano dell'Abatino in Italy, with the support of Associazione Kora.

🐾 From primates and wild mammals to birds in rehabilitation, Stacy's days are full of different tasks and new challenges. She's taken part in animal releases, helped rescue an injured roe deer, hand-fed a young owl and supported the nursery, where the youngest and most fragile animals receive special care.

One animal has a special place in her heart: Crudelia, a porcupine who couldn't be released because she had become too accustomed to humans. Her story is a reminder of the second chances the centre offers to animals. 💚

Beyond the animal care, Stacy has found her place among the keepers and fellow volunteers, is improving her Italian every day and has discovered a landscape very different from the flat countryside she's used to, with mountains surrounding the centre. ⛰️

Her advice to anyone thinking about a similar experience?

“It's demanding, eye-opening, and incredibly rewarding.”

🌱 ROOTS through Andrea's eyes 📸

Every photo in this post was taken by Andrea, who represented Italy at ROOTS – Regenerative Organisations, Opportunities, Tools & Skills, an Erasmus+ Training Course hosted by Academy of Growth in Geldern / Kevelaer, Germany 🇩🇪, from 2 to 14 September 2026.

For almost two weeks, 26 youth workers from 12 countries came together to explore one big question:

🌿 How can we create projects, collaborations and working cultures that generate abundance instead of exhaustion?

Through permaculture thinking, hands-on workshops on soil health, agroecology, agroforestry, mushroom cultivation and circular systems, participants explored new ways to turn ideas into action. They also worked on project planning, budgeting, shared responsibility and long-term thinking, while building connections and learning from one another. 🌱🤝

💬 For Andrea, ROOTS was his very first Erasmus+ experience — and it went beyond all his expectations.

“I’m taking home an authentic memory that I’ll keep in my heart. I met brilliant people with different backgrounds who share values that matter to me, and with them I felt completely myself.”

From meaningful moments of openness to pure relaxation, fun and laughter, the experience gave him space to connect with others and reflect on his own values.

He also appreciated the hosting organisation’s well-balanced programme, combining theory and practice in a way that allowed him to “learn without stress.”

✨ “I had so much fun and laughed a lot. I met amazing people I can now call friends, and at the same time it made me reflect on myself and my values.”

🇪🇸 Aprile e maggio di Alexis in Spagna con Recreando Estudio

Due mesi all’insegna della creatività, della partecipazione e della vita di comunità! 🎨

Tra workshop su mobilità sostenibile, alimentazione e movimento, Alexis ha contribuito a realizzare opere collettive insieme ai partecipanti. Ha anche creato contenuti social per lo studio, preparato uno stand per presentare un progetto e collaborato con diverse realtà locali.

Una delle esperienze più concrete? Dare una mano a mo***re un invernadero comunitario, una serra di quartiere pensata per diventare uno spazio condiviso dalla comunità. 🌱

Ma non si tratta solo di nuove attività: Alexis ha imparato a riconoscere quando qualcuno ha bisogno di una mano e a farsi avanti, migliorando le sue competenze comunicative, grafiche e organizzative. E riscoprendo quante risorse ha già dentro di sé.

Fuori dal progetto, tra pallavolo con la nuova squadra, assemblee per l’Orgullo Crítico e qualche incomprensione linguistica finita in una grande risata 😂, Alexis continua a collezionare esperienze e momenti da ricordare.

Il voto? 9/10. ⭐

🌍✨ Si chiude un capitolo europeo! ✨🌍

A fine ottobre la nostra volontaria Silvia conclude il suo progetto di Corpo Europeo di Solidarietà a Lipsia 🇩🇪, ospitata da Eine Welt e.V. Leipzig, con Associazione Kora come organizzazione di invio 💛

In questi mesi Silvia ha lavorato nei negozi dell'associazione e ha partecipato a progetti e workshop sull'antimafia, portando un pezzo d'Italia e di impegno civile nel cuore della Germania 🤝

Un'esperienza che le ha permesso di crescere e di rafforzare competenze preziose come pazienza, gestione dei conflitti e assertività, e di costruire un ottimo rapporto con gli altri volontari internazionali 🌱

E ora? Ora si torna con nuovi obiettivi: Silvia continuerà il suo percorso di dottorato di ricerca 🎓📚 Le auguriamo il meglio per questa nuova avventura!

🌍 ESC Update | Viviana da Inspire 🎨

Nuovo aggiornamento da Viviana, che continuerà la sua esperienza con il Corpo Europeo di Solidarietà fino a dicembre! ✨

Questo mese si è concentrata sulla preparazione del nuovo anno accademico, tra materiali da organizzare e cappelli in cartapesta da creare. 🎩 Un’occasione per mettere alla prova la creatività e migliorare le sue abilità manuali!

Il prossimo step? Conoscere da zero i bambini che arriveranno a fine mese e iniziare un nuovo capitolo insieme. 👧👦

Dopo tanti mesi a Inspire, Viviana è ormai parte della squadra: i colleghi si fidano di lei e spesso basta uno sguardo per capirsi al volo. E anche la comunità locale sembra averla adottata, tanto che qualcuno inizia a scambiarla per una del posto! 😄

Fuori dal lavoro, non mancano le occasioni per stare insieme agli altri volontari. E il momento più divertente del mese? Un bel po’ di ore in ufficio a mangiare gelato, perché ne avevano comprato decisamente troppo. 🍦

Il suo voto all’esperienza? 9/10 ⭐

E se potesse tornare indietro? «La rifarei tutta uguale».

🌾 What happens when people working to revive rural areas come together? A lot more than you might think.

From 2 to 6 September, we hosted the Activating EU Rural Areas International Conference & Workshop at La Buona Terra, in Passignano sul Trasimeno, bringing together rural activators, project teams and experts from across Europe as part of the first Rural Pilot Academy.

Over five intense days, we exchanged ideas and learned from inspiring projects and organisations from across Europe: Terra Sintropica 🇵🇹, Pueblos Remotos 🇪🇸, Collettivo L’Aquila Reale 🇮🇹, Rooral 🇪🇸, Dinamo10 🇵🇹 and Eresbrutal — each bringing their own experiences and approaches to rural activation.

We explored new ways to activate rural communities through hands-on workshops on European project design, community-led development and funding opportunities. We also shared our own ideas at the Project Bazaar, took part in a Human Library, and sat down with local representatives to discuss the future of rural areas.

And of course, there was time to cook together, share local Umbrian food and get to know each other beyond the workshops. 🍝

But the real takeaway? Building connections that turn ideas into action.*We left with new projects, stronger partnerships and a growing network of people working to make rural areas places where communities and young people can thrive.

Huge thanks to everyone who made this week happen. This is just the beginning! ✨
