Today’s Theme Based Activity focused on Outdoor and Environmental Education 🌿☀️

We started the day with a silent walk, each participant following their own pace and taking the time to reconnect with nature and with themselves.

Along the trail, we paid attention to the details that often go unnoticed: the textures of plants and rocks, the scent of flowers, the sounds of insects and animals, and the environment surrounding us. 🍃

In the afternoon, we explored how nature can become a powerful educational tool. Working in groups, we designed outdoor learning activities using the resources already present in the environment: trees, sunlight, shadows, ropes and natural obstacles.

These activities were not only about play and teamwork, but also about learning. For example, one challenge transformed a rope web into a giant spiderweb blocking bees from returning to their hive. To overcome it, participants had to work together while discovering the different roles that bees play within a colony. 🐝

Through creativity, movement and direct experience, we learned how outdoor education can help young people connect with nature while developing knowledge, cooperation and environmental awareness.

✨ Learning from nature, in nature

🗓️ 04 - 13 June 2026

Together with our guide Pierluigi from we walked through the historic centre of Caramanico and along the trails connecting the Orta and Orfento valleys. 🥾🌿

As we wandered through the narrow streets of the village, we discovered that Caramanico was founded during the Lombard era and developed on a naturally protected ridge between the Orta and Orfento rivers, a strategic location that still shapes the village today. 🏘️

Following ancient paths once used by local communities, we immersed ourselves in the landscapes of the Majella National Park, learning how nature, history and local traditions are deeply connected.

A day of stories, nature and discovery. 💡

Time for the Theme Based Activity focused on Communication and Critical Thinking 💬🧠

We started by reflecting on how communication works and how misunderstandings can arise between what we think, what we say and what others understand.

Through different activities, we explored communication channels, our personal communication styles and the importance of sharing information effectively. 📣

One of the highlights was “How Tall is Tom?”, an exercise that challenged us to collect, interpret and verify information while working together. 🤝

Later, we focused on critical thinking and its role in decision-making, problem-solving and effective communication.

We ended the day with “The Image as Language” 📸, reflecting on how our personal experiences and cultural backgrounds influence the way we interpret images and reality.

Another day full of learning, reflection and new perspectives! ✨

Stay tuned for more updates from Caramanico Terme 🇪🇺💙

📍 Caramanico Terme, Italy
🗓️ 04 - 13 June 2026

On June 4th we welcomed our participants, and yesterday marked the first official day of the project! ✨

We started with team-building activities 🫂 and a presentation of the project, exploring its programme, objectives 🎯 and our personal intentions for this learning journey. We also shared our fears, expectations and the contributions each of us can bring to the group.

The day continued with an introduction to the learner-centred approach in Non-Formal Education, reflecting on different ways of learning: through peers, written instructions, video tutorials or guidance from someone with previous experience.💡

One of the key takeaways was that everyone can be both a teacher and a learner. There are no fixed roles when learning happens together. 🌱

To put this into practice, we took part in an origami challenge. First individually, then in pairs using only one hand each, and finally in larger groups where we transformed our origami creations into a short theatre performance. 🎭

Through this activity, we experienced firsthand the importance of cooperation, communication and creativity, while discovering how learning can emerge through collaboration and shared experiences.

Stay tuned for more updates from Caramanico Terme! 🧡

📌 Just a few days ago, 7 young people from Italy travelled to Berlin for the Youth Exchange “FOOD EXPLORATION: Cooking, Creating, Connecting” 🇩🇪

We joined 28 participants from Greece, Lithuania and Germany, and for 8 days we lived together in an intercultural environment, sharing daily life, meals and ideas. Food quickly became our common language, something that went beyond words and helped us connect on a deeper level.

We spent time getting to know each other, learning about different food traditions and discussing how food is connected to identity, habits and culture. Through open conversations we reflected on topics such as food consumption, authenticity, veganism, sustainable choices and zero-waste cooking 🌱

Each day brought something new. We explored local markets in Berlin, discovered different ingredients, and compared how food culture changes from country to country. These small moments, like choosing ingredients together, cooking side by side, eating at the same table, became the most meaningful part of the experience.

One of the highlights of the exchange was the cooking challenge. We split into 4 international groups and created original vegetarian recipes from scratch 🍽️ It wasn’t just about cooking, but about teamwork, creativity, and learning how to communicate and collaborate despite language barriers.

There were laughs, debates, experiments in the kitchen, and a lot of shared meals that brought us closer every day.

It was an intense and inspiring week of exchange, connection and discovery, where food became the bridge between cultures, people and stories.

Thank you for having us ❤️
See you all soon at the next project!
