I’m Sarafine, I live in Paris🇫🇷 and I’m currently studying journalism.

Throughout my studies, I’ve developed a strong interest in cultural and social exchange. I find intercultural encounters incredibly enriching: they allow us to question our own perspectives, discover new ways of seeing the world, and learn from experiences that are different from our own.
This is one of the reasons why I wanted to join Elio’s. The organisation promotes values that I deeply care about and that I believe are particularly important for young people today.
And what better place to experience these values than Acireale local community, surrounded by its history, culture and richness?
I hope that I’ll be able to contribute something meaningful and

📅 From 8 to 17 August 2026, our Italian team took part in “DigiTales”, an Erasmus+ Youth Exchange held in Kirchlinteln, Bremen, Germany 🇩🇪✨

During the project, we explored digital citizenship, online activism and digital storytelling, discovering how young people can use digital spaces to raise their voices and create real-world impact. 💻🌍

It was also a great opportunity to share ideas, broaden our perspectives, strengthen teamwork and build meaningful connections with young people from across Europe. 🤝💙

A memorable experience filled with learning, inspiration and friendships that will last far beyond the exchange! 🇪🇺✨

From 25 to 28 May, Elios Acireale had the pleasure of hosting 12 representatives from 12 partner countries for the Advance Planning Visit (APV) of the Erasmus+ project “Etna Odyssey” 🌋

During these days, partners came together to discuss and finalize the project, visit the training venue in Cassone, strengthen cooperation, and ensure a shared vision for the upcoming training course.🤝

The program also included an NGO Market, where each organization had the opportunity to present its work, exchange good practices, and build new connections.♻️

With the project plan approved and all preparations in place, we are now looking forward to welcoming participants to Sicily in July for the Etna Odyssey Training Course. 🇮🇹🤍

🌱✨ Our participants have successfully returned from the training course “Youth Work in the Green and Digital Era”, which took place in Strumica, North Macedonia, from April 20–27, 2026, organized by .
During this international Erasmus+ training course, youth workers from different countries explored sustainable approaches to youth engagement, developed digital competences, strengthened their understanding of advocacy and civic participation, and exchanged good practices with fellow youth workers from across Europe.
The project aimed to empower participants to become stronger agents of positive change in their communities.

📢 🇮🇹After returning to Acireale, our participants organized a dissemination activity to share the knowledge, experiences, and tools they gained throughout the project. Through this local event, they introduced key concepts related to sustainability, digital youth work, civic participation, and Erasmus+ opportunities, ensuring that the impact of the project reaches even more young people and youth workers in our community.

A big thank you to everyone who joined the dissemination event and helped spread the project’s valuable outcomes! 💚🇪🇺

This week we officially launched our English Language Café ☕️🇬🇧

A space for practicing English through conversations, games, and real connections — in a relaxed and supportive environment.

Our first sessions have already been full of energy, laughter, and brave first steps outside comfort zones 💬

Between 04.09.2025 and 10.09.2025, 33 youth workers from 9 different countries: Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Italy, Turkey, Slovakia, Croatia, Poland, Serbia and Denmark took part in an Erasmus+ training course “Leadership in Youth Work”. Held in the picturesque Youtopia Riverside complex near Stara Zagora, Bulgaria, the project aimed to to develop and upgrade skills and competencies for leadership in youth work.
The activity took the form of training for youth workers, but also included elements of creative work on specific tasks. Through the implementation of the training, the capacity of youth workers was enhanced and their leadership abilities and competencies were developed. In this way, the youth workers participating in the project positioned themselves among their local communities as positive role models. The training provided leadership training, which developed the personal competencies of the participants and achieved an overall improvement in the quality and effectiveness of youth work. They increased their motivation to work and build on their experience and skills.

Il progetto "OrientaMente" ha lo scopo di contrastare la dispersione scolastica.
Il progetto avrà inizio ad Ottobre 2024 e coinvolgerà n. 6 Istituti di Istruzione Secondaria di Secondo grado.
Avrà la durata complessiva di due anni e si prevedono per ogni anno scolastico n. 80 ore di supporto psicologico per un totale di 160 ore nei
due anni.
Formatori, facilitatori, tutor e psicologo partecipano ad una formazione destinata a formatori e facilitatori che sarà organizzata nei mesi di Maggio/Giugno 2024.

Dal 14 al 23 Ottobre l'Associazione Elios, tramite il programma Europeo Erasmus+ finanziato dall'Agenzia Nazionale per i Giovani ha effettuato il progetto "Move-on: Cinema against discrimination". Tale progetto ha visto la presenza di oltre 30 giovani provenienti da Italia, Slovenia, Georgia, Polonia, Serbia, Macedonia e Romania. Durante tutto l'arco della settimana, i ragazzi sono stati impegnati nella realizzazione di tre cortometraggi sul tema della non discriminazione. Le attività svolte durante lo scambio giovanile sono state affrontate con diverse metodologie giorno per giorno con laboratori creativi e sperimentali nell'ambito dell'educazione non formale e di quella formale. I partecipanti si sono messi alla prova tramite pantomime, teatro delle ombre, simulazioni di discriminazione per poi inventare, tramite formazione professionale, un cortometraggio tutto loro, pianificando nel dettaglio sceneggiatura, inquadrature, riprese, audio, definizione dei ruoli e montaggio. I cortometraggi saranno pubblicati a breve sui social dell'Associazione Elios.
