As another farming season begins, we hope our farmers receive clean and unpolluted water for irrigation. Protecting our rivers, streams, and catchment areas means protecting our food, our livelihoods, and our future.

Today, a Reading and Storytelling Session was orgainzed with Tai Arun Sir as the resource person. This was the first reading session of the year and the second time Sir Arun joined us as a resource person.

Today’s reading session was based on the inspiring book Wings of Fire by A. P. J. Abdul Kalam. The session was engaging and meaningful for the children.

Most importantly, I would like to extend my sincere appreciation and gratitude to Sir Arun for giving his valuable time despite his busy schedule. I am also deeply thankful for his generous contribution of another set of books for the library and for providing refreshments for the kids. His continued support and encouragement truly inspire us to keep promoting reading and learning among children

P.S. This is to inform all parents and guardians of Government schools to enroll their children in the Reading Session and other educational activities organized under Project Purisa. These activities aim to encourage reading habits, creativity, learning, and overall personality development among children.

Team Save Aji and Kiiley was Joined by Apatani Youth Association for a field visit to the sand washing areas at Siipyu and PineGrove Ziro.

This long pending issue needs sustainable and permanent solution.

The much needed intervention initiated by new Team of AYA is much appreciated.

This issue is very much aligned with their CLEAN KIILEY initiative. We must not only look at the solid waste that is polluting the river but also we should check the water quality of the river as well.

We look forward for a positive outcome for future environmental Health through this intervention.

Impact of heavy rain in the last week of May 2025.

Around 25 paddy fields were affected due to heavy sand deposits in the paddy field that carried from the mining sites and other earth-cutting areas.

This is a picture from just one part of the Siipyu area. If we count from other villages or areas the number will go Higher.

To our surprise the compensation amount is yet to disburse.

The amount Agriculture Department and Disaster management is planning is pay as compensation to the farmers are as follows

To heavy damaged paddy fields Rs 7000 and the lowest amount is Rs 500.

Such is the respect for farmers of Ziro Valley.
