NCT works with children & women vulnerable to human trafficking and child marriages in Andhra Pradesh The Organization works on two major sets of objectives; 1.

NewBeginnings works towards the eradication of poverty and inequality and to impact lives with a significant difference in the quality of life of the marginalized, women and children. We’re dedicated to creating positive changes in the lives of women, children and the marginalized – vulnerable groups – all who envision a happier, right-based, and deepl

y satisfying life. NewBeginnings is a developmental organization working primarily and directly among the most marginalized communities that are isolated, remote and live in extreme poverty. The organization works towards the holistic development of target communities, with a special focus on children and women, involving various local stakeholders as partners in development. Establishing NewBeginnings is a conscious felt need of the founders committed to the welfare and protection of the rights of women and children from marginalized and vulnerable communities. Eradication of poverty and Violence against women and girls (VAWG). NCT implements a range of various activities towards the eradication of poverty– education for children, sponsorship support for orphan/semi-orphan children, functional literacy for illiterate women, employable skills training, and formation of Self-Help Groups (micro-credit groups). Towards countering VAWG, NCT works on a range of activities as part of its counter VAWG measures – campaigns, seminars, advocacy and sensitization of various stakeholders, and victims’ support systems. In many villages, we are the only non-profit building up the cornerstones of education, women empowerment, financial stability and health – and the only non-profit bringing people together from all walks of life to be a part of local solutions. It has been NCT’s policy approach that at least 60% of organizational staff and program beneficiaries should be women. Common Factors among the target villages: They are illiterate, unskilled and live in chronic drought-hit regions. They spend most of their time searching for work. Even if they find a “daily wage labour,” the income is meagre even though labour hours are between eight to ten hours a day. Cyclic poverty that has been passed on from one generation to the next has ended up resulting in children becoming victims of poverty- victims of child marriages, child labourers, and school dropouts. Children as child labourers work along with their parents in the field, shops, brick kilns, construction sites, etc., working between nine hours in the summer and seven hours in the winter.

Educating women on Gender Rights.
NCT organized 19 educational and sensitizing awareness drives on Sexual and Gender-based violence against women and girls. NCT reached out to 761 rural women and unmarried girls last week.

Sensitisation awareness drives on Human Trafficking and Child Marriages.
NCT organized 57 educational awareness programs reaching out to 2881 women and adolescent girls last month.
When women are educated and become aware of their rights and the plights of vulnerable women, they know how to protect their children and themselves.

Towards a drug-free safe society.
NCT continues to meet young people wherever we can and sensitize them against drug addictions.
We reached out to 36000 students and 18600 parents last month.

NCT organized educational awareness on narcotic drug addiction for Children in Gov Correctional Home (Juvenile Home), in Vijayawada. The children enthusiastically participated and also shared their experience with the team. NCT profoundly thanks the home In-charge officer and others for making this possible.

Responding to the unprecedented flood in Vijayawada, NCT distributed 8,000 notebooks to 2,000 students who lost their study materials. NCT profoundly thanks all our donors who made this possible.

Last month, NCT made a significant impact by reaching out to 1088 women from socio-economically vulnerable communities, educating them about the dangers of human trafficking and how to prevent it. What sets NCT apart is their deeply personal approach: their dedicated team goes house to house, street by street, and village by village.

In these visits, mothers and parents were sensitized to the harsh realities of human trafficking and equipped with the knowledge to protect their children from becoming victims. It’s a heartfelt mission, bringing crucial information directly to those who need it most, one family at a time.

Members of micro-credit groups were educated on Preventive and substance abuse. The objective is that mothers would be able to prevent their families and children from becoming victims of drugs and substance abuse/addictions.

NCT organized a series of sensitization awareness programs on drug addiction for senior high school/higher secondary students and university degree students in Vijayawada. NCT reached out to more than 3000 students last month (June).
Added to this, NCT also educated adults in the city on drug addiction and its impacts on life.

NCT is on the streets of Vijayawada reaching out to every nook and corner and educating both youngsters and their parents on drug addictions.
We aim to educate and sensitize 100,000 students against drug addictions by December 2024.

Working in the remote villages in Kurnool and Nandyal districts, NCT continue to educate and sensitize target communities protecting child rights and building a better future.
