A girl is not a burden. She is our strength. ❤️

The second Mohalla Sabha under Gramoththan’s Youth Development Programme was held in Damamunda, Boudh, bringing together around 60 young people for an open and meaningful conversation on women’s empowerment, girls’ education, and gender equality.

One of the most powerful moments of the gathering was the awareness play “A Girl is Not a Burden, She is Our Strength”, performed by the young youth themselves. Through their voices and performance, they challenged deeply rooted beliefs and reminded us that every girl deserves the freedom to learn, dream, and shape her own future.

The conversation went beyond the stage. Youth, parents, Anganwadi and ASHA workers, ward members, and community members came together to discuss the challenges girls face and, more importantly, what each of us can do to create change.

The gathering was joined by Mr. Pratap Kumar Pradhan, Executive Officer, Gramoththan; Mr. Brahmananda Mahapatra, English Lecturer, Jayakrishna Higher Secondary School, Damamunda; Mr. Wasim Khan from ASS Org, and Mr. Ratnakar Sahoo from Ashayen.

Because real change begins when young people are not just participants in conversations, but become the voices and leaders of change. 🌱

Let’s create communities where every girl gets the opportunity to learn, lead, dream, and thrive.

This Daan Utsav, our team members chose to give something truly meaningful — their time, stories, and conversations.

Spending a few hours with students, our team connected through conversations, storytelling, and shared experiences, creating a space where children could listen, imagine, ask questions, and express themselves freely. 📚✨

Because giving is not always about what we give—it is also about the time we share, the stories we tell, and the connections we build. ❤️

🌍 Gramothhan at Chakravyuh Climate Festival, Udaipur
On 26–27 September, Udaipur came alive with the Chakravyuh Climate Festival—a unique, city-wide celebration of climate action, learning, and collective imagination. Curated collaboratively by 22 organizations, the festival offered 50+ experiential engagements across multiple satellite venues throughout Udaipur. These diverse spaces enabled participants to explore climate issues through interactive experiences, conversations, creativity, and community action.
Gramothhan is proud to have been part of the curators’ collective, contributing to the collaborative process that brought this festival to life. For us, it was also a valuable opportunity to learn from diverse organizations, exchange perspectives, and deepen our understanding of how climate conversations can be made more engaging and accessible.

Learning, Sharing & Growing Together 🌱

We were delighted to welcome Vrinda and Heena from the TFIx team for a two-day visit to Gramothhan. During their visit, they explored our programs, particularly our Shiksha Prashan Kendra, and spent meaningful time observing our classroom processes and teaching practices.

They engaged closely with our team to better understand how we work with children to strengthen their foundational literacy and numeracy skills through engaging, activity-based learning.

The visit also created a valuable space for conversations, reflections, and mutual learning. We are grateful to Vrinda and Heena for spending time with our children and team and for taking a deeper interest in Gramothhan’s work.
