𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗮-𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲 | 𝗔𝘇𝗶𝗺 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗷𝗶 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽

CLR recently participated in the Internship Consultative Workshop and provided detailed insights on programmes in the 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 (𝗘𝗖𝗖𝗗) 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗘𝗖𝗖𝗘) 𝗱𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀.

The workshop was organised by the School of Education, Azim Premji University, Bengaluru, on 15th and 16th July 2026.

During the Spotlight Session, Dr. Sufia Azmat Azmat represented CLR and provided insights into CLR’s programmes across ECCD and ECCE domains, highlighting our:
• Research-informed programme design and implementation
• Technical support to governments and development partners
• Evidence-based interventions in ECCE and school readiness
• Capacity building of frontline workers and educators
• Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Documentation (RM&E)
• Opportunities for student engagement across ECCD, ECCE, RM&E, Operations, and Media Production

The workshop brought together leading organisations working in the ECCE space to collectively explore meaningful internship opportunities for students.

Dr. Ankur Madan, Director, School of Education, shared their ECCE course details and assessment framework for field internships. The parallel interaction sessions with students provided an excellent opportunity for one-on-one discussions on internship expectations, independent projects, mentoring, reporting structures, and learning outcomes.

CLR recognises that such collaborations are invaluable in preparing future professionals through practical exposure to programme implementation, systems thinking, field realities, and the processes that drive meaningful change in the development sector.

We thank Azim Premji University for bringing together practitioners and academia to foster stronger learning partnerships.

We look forward to welcoming future interns to CLR and strengthening the ECCD and ECCE ecosystem through their contributions to RM&E, Operations, and Media Production

The wait is over! 🎉 𝗢𝗻 𝟮𝟳𝘁𝗵 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆, 𝘄𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 “𝗪𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵” 𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗼 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗣𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝗭𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺𝘀. We are glad to have received an overwhelming response from students and teachers alike, rivalling the response from when the programme first aired 25 years ago.

🎙️ The Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad Pune, Hon’ble Shri Gajanan Patil IAS, officially inaugurated the event and addressed the students and teachers, describing how the programme would help them in their classrooms through bilingual, interactive, and engaging radio lessons.

🤝 We were also honoured to in attendance the Additional CEO of ZP Pune, Shri Chandrakant Waghmare, the District Education Officer, Smt. Lalita Dahitule, the Principal of DIET Pune, Shri Namdeo Shendkar, as well as Pune Zilla Parishad Officers, school headmasters, teachers, students, and villagers.

🎈 The inauguration ceremony, held at the Zilla Parishad Primary School, Loni Kalbhor-2, saw the enthusiasm of over 𝟭,𝟮𝟬𝟬 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 and 𝟰𝟬 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀, who actively took part in the activities conducted. Students posed holding “We Learn English” balloons, showing their excitement for the broadcast that will take place 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀, 𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀.

We look forward to hearing our jingle being chanted across classrooms all over Pune, helping students love and learn English!

Today's launch of We Learn English was made possible through the collective efforts of educators, administrators, broadcasters, and partners who believe that every child deserves joyful learning experiences.

𝗪𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝗦𝗵𝗿𝗶 Gajanan Patil IAS,𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗳 𝗘𝘅𝗲𝗰𝘂𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿, 𝗣𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝗭𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗱, for his continued leadership and support in bringing this initiative to classrooms across the district.

The return of We Learn English is about much more than reviving a programme after 25 years - it's about strengthening English Language Teaching (ELT) and ensuring that quality English learning reaches children, regardless of where they study.

We are grateful for the encouraging message from 𝗛𝗼𝗻'𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝘂𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗳 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗵𝘁𝗿𝗮, 𝗦𝗺𝘁. 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗮 𝗣𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿, whose support reflects a shared commitment to advancing English Language Teaching and learning across Maharashtra.

By combining the reach of All India Radio with engaging bilingual lessons, this initiative makes learning accessible, inclusive, and enjoyable for thousands of students in Pune Zilla Parishad schools.

Today,"𝗪𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵" officially returned to the airwaves 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟱 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀, with the inaugural lesson launched by 𝗛𝗼𝗻'𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗳 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗵𝘁𝗿𝗮, 𝗦𝗵𝗿𝗶 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗮 𝗙𝗮𝗱𝗻𝗮𝘃𝗶𝘀.

This milestone marks the beginning of a renewed effort to strengthen English Language Teaching (ELT) and make English learning engaging, accessible, and enjoyable for children studying in Pune Zilla Parishad schools.
