STEM education is not just about teaching Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. It is about nurturing curiosity, creativity, critical thinking and the confidence to ask “why?” and “what if?”

Our recent feature in Lokmat Times explores how Kotak Education Foundation is working to strengthen STEM learning by building teacher capacity and taking learning beyond textbooks and classrooms.

Through our three-year partnership with the Tribal Research and Training Institute (TRTI), Government of Maharashtra, KEF is working to equip teachers across 29 districts with culturally relevant and experiential pedagogies to strengthen STEM learning among students in rural tribal communities.

As the article highlights, the focus is not simply on what students learn, but on how they learn - through questioning, experimentation, problem-solving and real-world application.

A powerful reminder from our work: when teachers are empowered with the right skills and approaches, they can kindle possibilities far beyond the classroom.

With ~6,000 teachers across 1,000 government and aided schools being reached through the TRTI partnership, the ambition is to create a stronger foundation for STEM learning and future-ready skills.
