Pure joy to have showcased the handmade crafts and artworks of the Afghan community at Kaizen, IIT Delhi—the annual fest by the IIT Delhi NSS team. 🇦🇫✨

Thank you to the IIT Delhi NSS team for giving us the opportunity to host two stalls that encouraged and uplifted Afghan artisans. 💛
One stall featured artworks by Danyal Zaheer, and the other showcased beautiful handicrafts by Farida Khairkhwa.

The TMI Delhi team focuses much of its work among the Afghan refugee community—tutoring children, creating platforms for artisans, and building meaningful relationships along the way.

If you’re hosting a college fest or similar event, we’d love to collaborate. DM us to set up a stall and create space for Afghan artisans in your campus. 💛

“Your small effort can bring a big difference to a child’s life.” – Revathi Ramakrishnan

Countless smiles as Revathi, one of the 8 dedicated volunteers from Mahatma Education Society’s Pillai College of Education and Research (Autonomous) - , stepped into Beacon Learning Center at Shivajinagar slum community as a Teaching Associate from March 10 - 12, 2026.

What seemed like a small step - helping in classrooms, guiding children one-on-one, simply showing up - turned into something that truly mattered.🌱

Together, these 8 volunteers invested 106.5 hours into shaping brighter futures. And this is just the beginning!

🚀 Mumbai students, ready to make your small effort count? Volunteer with us!

Teaching women a livelihood, isn’t it a blessing? 🤍
The Movement India had the privilege of collaborating with Sahasee Embers, walking alongside six courageous women from the Turbhe Red Light Area as they began rewriting their stories.

Through this initiative, the women learned to create beautiful crochet products with their own hands. But more than just learning a craft, they discovered dignity, confidence, and hope for a new future.

A heartfelt thank you to Hannah Samuel, who generously volunteered her time to teach a Beginner-Level Crochet Course across 10 classes from July 18, 2025, to February 13, 2026. Her dedication made this journey possible. Swipe to hear her story.

We were also honoured to have Mrs. Pushkala Shreeram, founder of Dori Knot Dori, join us as the chief guest at the graduation ceremony, celebrating the women’s incredible achievement.

🌱 Do you have a skill you can teach?
From crafts, tailoring, baking, digital skills, or any livelihood training, your knowledge can empower women seeking a positive way to rebuild their lives.

📩 Volunteer with us and help equip women with skills that create dignity and sustainable income.

Once afraid of traveling in Mumbai’s local trains, Shikha Gupta from now confidently journeys from her college in Andheri to the Shivaji Nagar slum community to serve as a Teaching Associate at Beacon Learning Center.

As a Teaching Associate, Shikha assists the classroom teacher, helps children one-on-one with their learning, and encourages them in their growth. Volunteering didn’t just impact the children’s lives but also shaped hers.

With 1,200 children learning daily across our centers, every extra pair of hands helps build stronger classrooms and brighter futures. Our Teaching Associate (TA) Program works alongside dedicated teachers to support and encourage every child’s learning.

At the Beacon Learning Center, children receive education from LKG to Grade 2, along with daily meals and a safe place to learn and grow
