The Movement

The Movement The Movement is a volunteer mobilisation team based in Mumbai. We strive to build serving societies where giving is the way forward.

The Movement is a volunteer mobilisation organisation that seeks to build serving societies. We are a generation rising up to serve and not be served. A generation that believes each of us is uniquely gifted, and that if we serve people with our gifts, we can change the world - one person at a time. We are a platform that bridges the needs of the underprivileged, to the gifts, talents an

d resources of the privileged. In our cities, where majority of the population lives in slums, the needs for education, employment, medical resources, hygienic surroundings, financial independence, and much more, are immense. To meet these needs, we don’t always require a skilled social specialist with textbook knowledge and field experience. All it takes is a person like YOU, with a heart for people, and a desire to to help the needy. A person like you, who can share a few hours of your time, and serve from your area of abundance. For example, if you can read and write, would you help a parent in a slum fill out an admission form for their child’s school? If you’re a musician, would you teach a child to strum a few notes on a guitar? If you’re a financial mogul, would you show a family how to open a zero-balance bank account? At The Movement, we don’t believe that one person is the answer to everything. We believe that each of us has a little something, and together, that can amount to everything. So why not get on board The Movement? Take one step forward into the new world - a world where giving is the way forward. Let's say

Don't let scammers mess with your job hunt!

As job hunts are on the rise, job scams are on the rise and human trafficking is on the rise too.

The Anti-Human Trafficking Club (AHTC) students of Nagindas Khandwala College have done an exceptional job raising awareness about the intersection of fake employment opportunities and modern-day slavery.

They have aligned their initiative with the United Nations’ theme "Trapped Behind the Scam" for the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons on July 30, 2026.

The Movement India appreciates them for taking ownership for the cause.

If you are exposed to or suspect any such scam, dial 1930, the National cybercrime helpline and report it immediately.

Awareness is one of the most powerful tools we have in preventing human trafficking—and workplaces have an important role to play in that effort.

To commemorate World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, The Movement India had the privilege of partnering with WEPA.Digital to host an Anti-Human Trafficking Awareness Session for their employees.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Suzanna Tapala for championing this initiative from within WEPA and making this collaboration possible, and to Mitesh Patel for supporting and encouraging meaningful conversations around this important issue. Thank you for creating space within your organisation to equip employees with knowledge that can help protect lives.

A heartfelt thank you to WEPA Group and WEPA.Digital for partnering with us and demonstrating how businesses can contribute to building safer, more informed communities.

As we observe World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, we invite more organisations to join this movement. By equipping employees with knowledge, together we can recognise, prevent, and respond to human trafficking.

If your organisation would like to host an Anti-Human Trafficking Awareness Session, we'd be honoured to partner with you. Together, let's build workplaces that don't just talk about social responsibility—they actively contribute to it.

Online job scams are on the rise, but the students of the Anti-Human Trafficking Club (AHTC) from the NSS unit at Valia Chhaganlal Laljibhai College of Arts have taken ownership to do what is right. 👐

Let's see what!

The UN's theme for World Day Against Trafficking in Persons today, July 30th, 2026, is "Trapped behind the Scam."

The students are creating awareness about the red flags of job scams through videos.

They highlight crucial warning signs, such as: ⚠️

- Text-only interviews conducted only over text-chat apps.

- Illegal travel requests asking you to fly to another country on a tourist visa instead of a work visa.

- Unrealistic compensation of a suspicious amount of money (sometimes in lakhs) on a monthly basis for simple tasks like data entry.

Look out for these signs. Be alert and spread awareness!

A big thumbs-up to them from The Movement India for understanding the issue and creating awareness. 👍

You can make a difference too!
Save the national helpline number 1930 and dial it immediately if you suspect an online scam.

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is a trap.

Not all job offers are from employees you'd want to work with. Beware and don't get trapped in the scam.

Perfectly fitting with the theme 'Trapped in the Scam' for World Day against Trafficking in Person this year, the AHTC of NSS Valia Chhaganlal Laljibhai College Of Arts Nss Valia is creating awareness through this video about how people are trafficked through job scams.

The Movement India commends their ownership and support to the cause. ⭐

Who cleaned our Beach?

It’s our Impact Catalyst at VIBGYOR Social Service Responsibility Cell (V-SSRC) who took the initiative, picked up trash from the city’s beaches, lakes and parks to create a clean surrounding. 🚮

Not to be seen, but with a pure motive to keep their community and neighbourhood clean.✨

Now isn’t this a perfect example ownership, servant leadership, and integrity?🌻

While many learn about the harm caused by plastic and concepts of reuse, reduce and recycle in the classroom, these young changemakers took their classroom into the community and got into action.💚

They got their hands dirty that you and me can have a cleaner community.👐

Young changemakers spread warmth and light when the cold was setting in.🪔

Last Diwali our Impact Catalyst from the VIGBYOR Students' Social Responsibility Cell (V-SSRC) came together to do. From planning to implementation, they did it all!
- Diya decoration and sale for fund raising of over 1 lakh Rupees✨
- NGO partnerships for blanket and woollen donation.🧡
- Visits to beneficiaries to donate the blankets and woollens🍁

Students learnt that giving is not just about charity, it is to dignify the underprivileged by serving them with integrity.

You too can brighten someone’s life by being a part of the volunteer program we have. 🌞

Pure joy to have showcased the handmade crafts and artworks of the Afghan community at Kaizen, IIT Delhi—the annual fest by the IIT Delhi NSS team. 🇦🇫✨

Thank you to the IIT Delhi NSS team for giving us the opportunity to host two stalls that encouraged and uplifted Afghan artisans. 💛
One stall featured artworks by Danyal Zaheer, and the other showcased beautiful handicrafts by Farida Khairkhwa.

The TMI Delhi team focuses much of its work among the Afghan refugee community—tutoring children, creating platforms for artisans, and building meaningful relationships along the way.

If you’re hosting a college fest or similar event, we’d love to collaborate. DM us to set up a stall and create space for Afghan artisans in your campus. 💛
