Update: Major Progress on Garbage & Traffic Issues!
Dear Residents,
Today, June 29, 2026, our community took a massive step forward. We held two highly critical and effective meetings back-to-back to address the lingering issues in our neighborhood:
1- BMC Solid Waste Management (SWM) Department, L Ward
2- Sakinaka Traffic Department (with Senior PI Smt. Salunkhe Madam)
Thanks to the relentless pressure and leadership of our strongest warrior, Shri Ashok Matekar Dada, alongside the dedicated residents who stood present, both meetings were incredibly fruitful. We didn't just talk—we secured concrete action items with strict timelines.
Here is the official breakdown of what was decided:
🚮 Garbage & Cleanliness (BMC L Ward)
Zero Tolerance on Bridge: There will be NO garbage allowed on the Mithi Nadi bridge moving forward.
Footpath & Road Clearing: The footpath from Marwah House to the bridge will be cleared of all debris. Following this, regular cleaning schedules will be enforced for the road, footpath, and side strips.
Enforcement: We have requested the deployment of two Nuisance Detectors (NDAs) across two shifts on the bridge to strictly monitor and maintain it as a garbage-free zone.
🚗 Traffic & Illegal Parking (Sakinaka Traffic Dept.)
Dumper Monitoring: Traffic officials will now constantly monitor and heavily fine illegal dumper parking.
Owner Accountability: The department will summon the dumper owners directly to discuss and halt this bottleneck.
Bridge Clearance: All permanent parking occupying the bridge will be cleared out.
Marwah Road Restructuring: An odd-even parking system will be implemented on Marwah Road to streamline traffic flow.
