Sarthak Foundation Educating children from economically weaker sections in slums and villages. Our programmes: Yellow Rooms, YellowSLATEs and RTI Sarthak Gurukul.

We are a Registered Society with FCRA, 12A and 80G (Income Tax Exemption) Sarthak Foundation started in 2013 when an incident involving little children living in a Lucknow urban slum exposed Kshama, the Founder of Sarthak, to extreme hunger and abject poverty, somethings that are so pervasive and rampant that they have become part of the landscape and we don’t notice them even when they are right

in front of us. She thought that imparting education was the only tool capable of bringing sustained changes in the lives of these children so she went with a slate and started teaching the children. What started with 6 children under a tree is today an organized, data centric and well managed non-profit running three long term, deep, immersive and impactful projects impacting more than 14,000 children directly and 56,000 people indirectly. Sarthak Foundation started with the belief that no child should be left behind for being born in economic and social disadvantage. With a vision to have Happy Empowered Children, Sarthak Foundation reaches out to children to make them self-sustainable through education, socio-emotional strengthening and skills so that they are able to break out of abject poverty. Sarthak Foundation is a registered non-profit working in the state of Uttar Pradesh in India. We are registered as a society and have 80G and 12A certificates under the Income Tax Act that validate our status as a non-profit. We also have the FCRA certification that allows us to accept foreign donations from outside of India.

At Yellow Rooms, learning happens every day through Maths, Science, English stories and countless opportunities to explore, ask questions and discover.

Children learn not just from books, but by experimenting, sharing ideas, solving problems and learning together with their peers.

We are grateful to Technical Associates Transformers Ltd. ( TA Foundation ) for supporting this journey and helping children build knowledge, confidence and a love for learning.

We are happy to be part of this meaningful collaboration with Jaipuria Institute of Management Lucknow, where students had the opportunity to engage with children as part of their social internship.

As part of the collaboration, students spent time at Yellow Rooms and conducted engaging sessions on personal hygiene, good manners, storytelling, reading and body safety through simple, interactive activities.

The experience created a meaningful exchange of learning. Children gained new experiences and confidence, while the interns got an opportunity to understand communities and contribute beyond the classroom.

A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Sushma Vishnani, Jaipuria Institute of Management, and Dr. Dr. Reena Agrawal, Chairperson, Social Responsibility Committee (SRC), for initiating and supporting this collaboration.

Celebrating freedom by giving every child the freedom to express, participate and grow.

Independence Day at Shalimar Corp Limited Sites was filled with joy, energy and the spirit of togetherness. Children celebrated the day through various activities, performances and creative expressions.

The children also presented a vibrant dance performance on a patriotic song, bringing the celebration alive with their enthusiasm and confidence.

A heartfelt thank you to Shalimar for giving children this platform. Opportunities like these help children express themselves, overcome hesitation, build confidence and discover their potential.

Independence Day at RTI Sarthak Gurukul was a celebration of freedom, confidence and the dreams of our children.

We were delighted to welcome Mr. Khushal Bhargava, Ms. Anima Bhargava, Mr. Siddharth Gupta and Mr. Atul Nigam, who spent time with the children, listened to them and inspired them to believe in their own potential.

The children made the celebration truly special with Sanskrit speeches, songs, a presentation on the Power of Youth and energetic dance performances. Their confidence and enthusiasm reflected the spirit of a young India ready to shape its future.

A heartfelt thank you to Mr. Khushal Bhargava for continuing to celebrate Independence Day with our children at Gurukul every year and to all our guests for encouraging the children and distributing stationery.

Never Give Up.

Ten years ago, Sanjana joined Yellow Rooms as a little girl, where she received support to continue her school education. Today, she is pursuing law, with Yellow Rooms continuing to support her journey into higher education.

On World Never Give Up Day, Sanjana stands as a beautiful example of grit, determination and resilience. Despite many challenges, she kept moving forward and continued to break barriers.

Recently, she participated in the Independence Day Speech Competition in her college and secured second position.

A Visit Filled with Encouragement and Inspiration

We were delighted to welcome Dr. Ram Sewak Sharma, Distinguished Visiting Professor, IIT Kanpur, Former CEO, National Health Authority (NHA), Former Chairman, Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), Mr. S.S. Sirohi, Ex Member, Digital Communications Commission (Telecom Commission) & Secretary to Govt of India, Ministry of Communications & IT and Mr. Ashok K. Singh, IIT Kanpur Alumni to our Noida Yellow Rooms.

They spent time with our children, understanding what children learn every day. The children shared their learning, recited poems and spoke about their experiences at Yellow Rooms.

Our guests encouraged the children to value education, work hard and continue their studies with focus and determination. They also shared valuable insights with our team on integrating technology into learning.
