“Maine socha tha stadium sirf TV pe dikhta hai. Kal jab andar gayi, toh samajh hi nahin aaya itna bada hota hai.
Ankit bhaiya aur Shiva bhaiya humein lekar aaye the. Hum 136 bachche the. Itne saare. Jab hum sab ek saath the, toh dar kam laga.
Rishabh Pant bhaiya bilkul paas aaye. Maine unhe dekha hi tha phone pe. Lekin seedha saamne dekha toh haath kaanpne lage. Unhone humse baat ki, mazaak kiya, aise jaise hum koi bade log hain.
Maine ek bhi pakdi. Woh pal yaad rahega. Ghar pe kisi ko nahin pata ki main kya feel kar rahi hoon, kyunki woh log wahan the hi nahin.
Dreams Peace Foundation ne yeh kiya. Warna Ekana stadium humari zindagi mein kabhi aata hi nahin.”
- Garima, 11
Yesterday, 136 children from Lucknow’s slums walked into Ekana Stadium for the very first time. For most of them, cricket only existed on borrowed phones and distant cheers. Ankit and Shiva took them there not because it was easy to arrange, but because they believe joy is not a privilege. Watching Garima and the other kids stand on that ground, hold a bat, laugh with their cricketer heroes, and simply belong somewhere grand for one afternoon reminded us exactly why Dreams Peace Foundation exists. These children do not need our pity. They need doors opened. Yesterday, we opened one.
