Our story started on the 5th of April 2017. After the annual college fest : Plexus 2017 had just ended, when a bunch of final year students from KPC Medical College and Hospital - AnujeetPaul, Arjun Talapatra (General Secretary of the Student’s Association 2016 - 2017), Shaikh Ayub Hasan (President of The Student’s Association 2016 - 2017) and several enthusiastic juniors decided to visit an orphanage and spend the surplus money on buying food and gifts for the children there. This endeavor was called Plexus for a cause, and that was the day that the idea of Doctors For A Cause was born. Since our inception, we have grown, and are now an expanding family. We are not restricted to only our Alma Mater (KPC Medical College and Hospital). Now together we can work towards a cause irrespective of our Mother Institutes.
Our goal is, was and always will be, to take up social causes where a combination of medical and non medical, student and non student volunteers can contribute to make a difference in the society and create awareness. We have collaborated with quite a few organizations, and conducted lots of events in the past three years, details of all can be found on our Facebook and Instagram page. A few of which include – Responsible Charity, ARDSI, ASHARI for animal welfare, Rotaract Club, Lions, TISA. Besides our on ground work, our Facebook, Instagram and YouTube pages are extremely active with academic and educative forums.
DR. ANUJEET PAUL (Co-founder):
The powerhouse of our little family, constantly co-ordinating with a whole bunch of people and someone who has undying patience. He helps the organization with his valuable experience and familiarity of the technicalities of social media.
DR. ARJUN TALAPATRA (Co-founder):
His way with seniors, juniors, teaching and non teaching personnel is a benchmark example. Besides handling all the initial hurdles of forming such an organization and helping it to stand on its own, Arjun has been a consistent performer.
DR. SHAIKH AYUB HASAN (Co-founder):
One of the blocks holding us strong and giving us potent base to build on. We rely on him for leadership skills in time of crisis and practical inputs in time of planning.
DR. DALIA KARMAKAR:
She has played a vital role during the formation of Doctors For A Cause. Extremely hard working, dedicated and very passionate about her work.
DR. SAMRIDDHI SARKAR:
Honest and straight forward. Avid animal lover and has a very strong set of opinions, also very hard working and dedicated.
DR. SAIESHA NAGAVARAPU:
The Khaleesi to dogs. Her dedication to work is something one can only hope to achieve. Her passion drives her to greater heights.
DR. AFSHAN AKBAR SIDDIQUI
She is an angel in disguise, coming to the rescue whenever you need her. Her talents cannot be listed.
GARIMA DUGAR:
One of the most powerful voices in the core team. She is very motivated and will push herself to get the task done.
DEVASHISH AGARWAL:
He will get almost any work done with his easy going nature, he has many tricks up his sleeve. Responsibility is his middle name.
PAYEL CHAKRABORTY:
Versatile, dedicated and opinionated. A perfectionist in front of the camera and behind it.
SEJAL CHHABRA:
Creative and assertive, she will pull out all the stops for each project. Her contribution and commitment to the cause is unmatched.
DR. ATIA RAHAMAN:
She is the sunshine in the dark times, irrespective of any constraints she will get the job done. Extremely dedicated and brave! Her efforts for the organization are unparalleled.
DR. AYINDRILA MUKHERJEE:
Confident in her own way, does not miss a chance to strike an interesting, engaging and intellectual conversation. Her contribution has been consistent right from the beginning. One of the most adorable members.
NAMRATA CHAKRABORTY:
Super creative, pro active and enthusiastic. There is no task that she cannot take care of. She is the whole package!
ROSHMI BAG:
Fierce and dedicated. She is someone who never gets tired of work. Always pumping with new ideas and never tired to take new initiatives.
YACHNA KABRA:
She is someone who can work like a machine. Very respectful towards her colleagues and she comes with a gamut of skills. She is the definition of hard work and perseverance.
ARUSHI GOEL:
Passionate, driven and kind at the same time. She believes in inspiring and healing people. She never backs down from doing or saying the right thing.
ANURAKTI MAJUMDAR:
Polite and full of compassion. She finishes every task with utmost dedication and honesty.
AMRITHA GOPALA KURUP:
The perfectionist of the group. She is extremely versatile and can take care of anything with her positive and relaxed demeanor.
