Young Minds. Big Ideas. A Better Future.

On 18th September 2026, Sandy Khanda, Founder of Green Pencil Foundation, addressed students from 13 schools across Delhi NCR at the UN SDG Summit 2026, hosted by Pathways World School.

From climate action to quality education, responsible consumption to life on land, young changemakers explored the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and turned global challenges into ideas for local solutions.

Sandy also had the opportunity to judge the Design Thinking Competition, where students presented innovative models addressing some of the world’s most pressing challenges.

The future belongs to young people and when they are given the space to think, question and create, they can truly Build the Change They Wish to See.

This Gandhi Jayanti, Gen Z is coming together for the Yamuna.

On 2nd October 2026, young people, students, colleges and youth communities will come together at Kalindi Kunj Ghat, Yamuna, Delhi for a Gen Z-led Yamuna Cleanup Drive & Jal Chaupal, a space to clean, connect and have meaningful conversations about the future of our river.

This Gandhi Jayanti, we’re coming together for the Gen Z Yamuna Jal Chaupal 2026 — a day of action, conversations and young voices coming together for the Yamuna.

Mr. Pankaj Kumar : Founder, Earth Warrior
Working for water-body conservation across India and contributing to the conservation of the Yamuna for several years.

Hiba Khan: Founder, Hiba Green Foundation
An environmentalist working with young people on environmental action, animal rights and building a stronger connection with nature.

Sandy Khanda: Founder, Green Pencil Foundation | TEDx Speaker | Teach For Nature Fellow, Bhoomi College. Working with school and college students on nature education, youth-led climate action and youth development at the intersection of climate, health and sustainability.

The Yamuna is not just a river. It is a part of our city, our lives and our future.

This Gandhi Jayanti, we’re bringing young people together to do something simple but meaningful — show up for the Yamuna.

On 2 October 2026, Gen Z from Delhi University and youth communities across Delhi will come together at Kalindi Kunj Ghat for a cleanup drive followed by Gen Z Yamuna Jal Chaupal — a space to sit together, talk, listen and think about what we can actually do for our river.

No big speeches. No complicated solutions.

Just young people coming together, cleaning the riverbank and starting a conversation.

A Morning with Birds, Nature & Young Explorers!

On 21 September 2026, Green Pencil Foundation, in collaboration with Prithvi – The Environment Society of Sri Aurobindo College, Delhi University, organised a Bird Guide Walk at Aravali Biodiversity Park, Gurugram.

From 9 AM to 11 AM, participants explored the beautiful Aravalli landscape and learnt the basics of bird observation, identification and bird behaviour.

We were also happy to have Prerna, President of Prithvi Environment Society, join the walk.

One of the interesting parts of the session was learning about citizen science-based birding and the Ataavi Bird App, which helps nature enthusiasts record and explore their bird observations.

The idea was simple step outside, observe closely, learn from nature and develop birding as a hobby.

We believe that when young people spend more time observing nature, they don't just learn about biodiversity they build a relationship with it.

Learning about nature begins by noticing it.

Our birding session with Haritashray – The Eco Club Society of Lady Irwin College was all about slowing down and noticing the wildlife around us.

How many birds can you spot around your campus?
Sometimes, we don't need to go far to experience nature. We just need to slow down, look around and listen.

On 22 September 2026, Green Pencil Foundation, in collaboration with Haritashray – The Eco Club Society of Lady Irwin College, organised a campus birding session where students learnt how to observe birds, recognise their calls, understand their behaviour and explore the habitats around them.
Every bird we notice is a reminder that urban spaces are also home to wildlife.

From spotting birds to trekking through the green trails of Sanjay Van, every step was an opportunity to observe, explore and connect with nature.
Green Pencil Foundation, in collaboration with Aranya Nature & Environment Society, Zakir Hussain Delhi College, University of Delhi, organised a Bird & Nature Guided Walk + Trekking Experience on 20th September 2026.
A beautiful morning of birding, biodiversity, trekking and nature learning.

Because sometimes, the best classroom has no walls.
