📍 Metusahi Village:*27 kg of freshly harvested brinjal was sold at ₹25/kg, generating ₹675 in income for the farmer.

📍 Bhaliabada Village: A field visit to the kitchen garden showcased how sustainable, organic vegetable farming can strengthen household livelihoods and create local income opportunities.

For marginal farmers, regular income from vegetable can provide an opportunity to earn closer to home, reduce dependence on , and build a more resilient livelihood.

Voices of Change. Communities in Action.

From empowering farmers and strengthening village participation to youth-led community dialogues, girls’ empowerment, inclusive learning, and disaster response, August was a month of collective action, resilience, and grassroots impact across Odisha. 🌾👧🏽🤝🌍

📰 Highlights from this month’s edition:

✅ 86 Village Development Committees participated in the Special Gram Sabha and presented their Village Development Plans.
✅ Marginal farmers in Ganjam, Gajapati & Mayurbhanj received continuous handholding support and agricultural tools to strengthen sustainable livelihoods.
✅ Farmers across four Gram Panchayats received support under Shree Anna Abhiyan to strengthen ragi cultivation and access to procurement.
✅ Parvati’s Ragi Journey: From traditional farming to improved productivity, income, and stronger livelihood security.
✅ Seven youth-led Mohalla Sabhas generated community awareness on child marriage, substance abuse, safe migration, public health, hygiene, and environmental protection.
✅ 44 adolescent girls participated in menstrual awareness and Community Champion Training, promoting dignity and ending menstrual stigma.
✅ Women strengthened their pathways towards skills, entrepreneurship, and economic empowerment through tailoring training, with 120 participants.
✅ Safe Space Mapping empowered adolescent girls to recognise risks, speak up, and build stronger voices for their safety.
✅ Inclusive learning and accessibility: Health, SRH awareness, and audiobook training supported students with visual disabilities.
✅ 150 flood-affected families in Bhadrak received essential relief support, with a focus on persons with disabilities and vulnerable households.

💬 These stories reflect how community voices, youth leadership, inclusive action, and strong partnerships can create lasting change and more resilient communities.
