THE IMPACT
The Story of Tanuja and Shivani !
Tanuja and Shivani are two sisters who live with their younger brother and mother, Mrs. Rajni Devi, in a rented slum settlement in Mayapuri. About three years ago, the family lost their father, Mr. Santosh, due to illness. Since then, their mother has been single-handedly raising all three children under extremely difficult financial circumstances.
To support the family, Rajni Devi works in multiple homes doing cleaning and household chores. The little income she earns is barely enough to cover rent and daily expenses, and at times, even arranging basic ration becomes a challenge.
In 2025, all three children began attending the Joy Pathshaala, an initiative run by the . This marked a turning point in their lives.
Through Joy Pathshaala, the children received essential educational support including notebooks, pens, pencils, geometry boxes, and other study materials. These seemingly small contributions created a big impact — the children started attending classes regularly and gradually developed a genuine interest in learning.
The dedicated teachers at Joy Pathshaala, Rekha Ji and helper Ruby Ji, worked patiently to provide the children with foundational education and prepare them for formal schooling. Their continuous guidance and encouragement helped both sisters gain confidence, discipline, and awareness about the importance of education.
In April 2025, the teachers of Joy Pathshaala successfully facilitated school admissions for 85 children studying at its 4 centres— including Tanuja and Shivani. Today, both girls are officially enrolled at MCD Nagar Nigam Primary School, Khajan Basti and attend school regularly.
The journey of Tanuja and Shivani beautifully reflects how , through its initiative, is transforming lives at the grassroots level. By providing access to education, emotional support, and consistent encouragement, the foundation is not only helping children enter schools — it is restoring hope, confidence, and the possibility of a better future for entire families.
