India is blessed with the richness of age old culture & civilization, diversities & complexities and is home to people of different religions, faiths, customs, rituals, languages and traditions. We celebrate different festivals, worship different Gods, speak different languages, eat different food and wear different clothes but we always cherish our unique Indian-ness and celebrate our unity in di
versity, value-based systems and our deep-rooted spirituality. The multi-cultural, multi-religious and multi-ethnic nature of our society ensures a continuous celebration of many different festivals in India, of which Durga Puja holds the pride of place. It inculcates the noble values of peace, truth, compassion, humility and humanity. Goddess Durga embodies the virtues of intelligence, power and mercy and epitomises the victory of good over evil. Durga Puja with its message of victory of good over evil, peace and unity amongst mankind, is an integral part of our Bengali culture and way of life and helps enhance our contribution of multi-cultural Karnataka. The enthusiasm, emotion and pride that marked the very first celebration in Whitefield back in 2003 continue to grow stronger every year. I am extremely happy that the Whitefield Cultural Association, Bangalore is all set to celebrate Durga Puja for the 11th year running in October this year. It is really an important milestone which we are justifiably proud of. All my friends, Donors, Advertisers, Whitefield Residents and their families join me in extending our warm greetings and best wishes for successful Durga Puja celebrations.
