A jam packed day with evaluations & youth pass tasks before we began prepping for our farewell party 🥳 mars bar squares & mini egg cookies were on the menu with pizzas of course 🤩

Before the party we also had to complete the benches that were repainted and designed for Slane Farm Hostel ☺️

Then everyone was presented their Youth Exchange tops & the party began 🥳

Into the late hours / early mornings there were songs sang, dances danced, fortunes read before saying farewell to our new friends .. to be reunited in July 🇵🇹 .ireland

Wall reveal 🤩

The theme was inclusion & diversity through creativity 🥰 it was important to the young people to create a mural that included the voices of lesser heard - this meant including the Traveller Flag, Pride Flag & Neurodiversity Flag 💕

The young people took their idea from concept to masterpiece and we couldn’t be prouder of them and the result of the wall 😍 photos don’t even do it justice! 8 hours of hard work, dedication and some cold hands but the determination to get it done in the short time frame was incredible to see ☺️

Thank you to Meath County Council for allowing permission to create this with the support & Cllr. Ronan Moore and to our incredible artist Compact Ivy Mural Design Meath who guided us all through the process while giving the complete independence and ownership to the young people 💕

We are so proud of this masterpiece created by the Traveller young people here in Involve & our partners and friends with the support of Erasmus+, The European Commission & Léargas 🥳🥳 if you’re local to Trim- check it out yourself while you walk under the bridge that connects the porchfields 🥰

The morning started with a tour of Trim Castle before we tackled the mural on the wall to get it complete 🥰 while some worked on the wall, others played sports & games 👌🏼

After a hard afternoon of team work that wall was complete 😍 … but that deserves a post of its own - keep an eye out for the final product 👀 .ireland

🇵🇹🇮🇪 Day 3 🇮🇪🇵🇹
As the young people began to form friendships and understanding for eachother we continued with our theme of Inclusion, Diversity & Creativity on our “All Different, All Equal” youth exchange in Slane 🇮🇪🇵🇹

The morning started with some energisers & then they all choose to take part in the sports or bench designs. We redesigned 2 benches for our hosts . The young people brainstormed the designs they wanted to create and the colours to use and the they lay down there base colours 😍 we then headed into Trim for the main element of the project - our wall mural under the bridge connecting the Porchfields 🤩

The young people spent the afternoon getting their idea they designed pre-exchange onto the wall with the support of artist Compact Ivy Mural Design Meath . Great work was done one day 1 👀

Then it was back to warm up in Slane and enjoy an evening of learning about Portuguese culture with their cultural night 🇵🇹 an evening with quizzes, snacks, stories & of course some dance 💃🏼 🕺 Léargas

The focus of the day was team building and adventure 🤩 the young people were all set with tasks to achieve during there time in the park & the finished the night with our cultural night 🇮🇪☘️
Tayto sandwiches were the favourite while the spice bag was a little too spicy for some 😅
We the shared with the group facts on Traveller Culture & Annie then led us with a demo of paper flowers which was enjoyed by everyone 💕

🇵🇹🇮🇪Travel day & Day 1 🇮🇪🇵🇹
Our Portuguese group landed in the late night of Thursday into Friday morning 🌅 They spent the morning in Dublin before we all came together in Slane to start our project ☺️
The evening was spent getting settled in & getting to know our space and eachother 🤍 On Saturday morning we continued to get to know each other and began working on our benches we are redesigning for the hostel & then sports, a walk into the town & team building challenges in the evening - finished with a game of werewolf 😍
